People have been talking about Mister Eko and I thought I'd start an official thread about him. Some of us think he is somehow connected to that Nigerian drug plane that Locke saw in a dream and later found, much to poor Boone's bad fortune. I think we are all very curious about that stick, too. My daughter still thinks he is iffy. She took his name and rearranged it as follows: MISTER EKO IM OSTER with E and K leftover E = 5 and K = 11 5 + 11 = 16 (one of the Numbers) 16 = P Place P in and you get IMPOSTER! Whether she's right or not, I'm proud.

I would be too. Your daughter's got quite a head for these kinds of things. I think that if there is any connection between him and the plane it's through relatives or friends. He may have assisted them, knowingly or unknowingly.

I doubt it. His first name isn't going to be Mister.

I know his first name isn't Mister, but that's what the show is calling him, therefore,
IMPOSTER

Tums make the stomach worse.
What kind of a moron suggested shoving more stuff down into an upset stomach?
The supreme irony of life is that no one gets out of it alive.

Hey, this is my first post so don't be mad at me if I mess up. My brother and I have this theory about Mr. Eko. It is a bit far fetched but here goes. Mr. Eko is a vampire/priest We believe this because
#1. He was the one who dealt with the bodies after the crash. He could have sucked the blood of the already dead or dyeing people. He has a conscience so he would not feast on anyone who had a chance of survival.
#2. In the scene where he is attacked by the "others" we see him bending over their dead bodies with his mouth dripping. When the rest of the lostaways come close he looks up at them in a very vampirish way with teeth bared. (when I first saw this part I thought he was some sort of cannibal and then I felt stupid about thinking that until my sister watched it later and asked if Mr. Eko was eating the people. My brother was the next to watch the episode and his reaction was "Oh cool, Mr. Eko is a vampire!")
#3. Because he is a religious person he feels guilty for killing potentially innocent people and so he fasts from talking for 40 days to pay for his sins. #4. He has a wooden staff on which he has carved things, possibly scriptures. Vampires can be killed by a wooden steak through the heart. Maybe this staff is for protection against other vampires he may encounter.
Okay so it's not the best of theories and it has a few holes in it. Vampires don't normally come out in the day unless they are super powerful and they don't drink the blood of the dead but it is interesting to think about.
