So when Eko said he is "worse" than married, does he mean he is celibate?

After watching last night's episode, I think Ethan is right. Eko appears to be an IMPOSTER. While he may be sincere in his repentance and priestly ways, I am not convinced that he was ever officially ordained. This has interesting implications for Aaron. If Eko baptizes Aaron and is not a real priest, it will be like Damien in The Omen. Very interesting. We don't know the amount of time between the last flashback in 23rd Psalm and him getting to the Island. He very well could have been ordained between these times. He also could have become the Priest for his brother's congregation after the plane left, whether or not he was ordained, as I said in the 23rd Psalm post. That is what I think happened. Also, on the stick he has written Psalm 144, which is one of my favorite Psalms (it is also the one the Sniper in Saving Private Ryan says): Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. 2 He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.
3 O LORD, what is man that you care for him, the son of man that you think of him?
4 Man is like a breath; his days are like a fleeting shadow.
5 Part your heavens, O LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, so that they smoke.
6 Send forth lightning and scatter {the enemies}; shoot your arrows and rout them.
7 Reach down your hand from on high; deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners
8 whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful.
9 I will sing a new song to you, O God; on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,
10 to the One who gives victory to kings, who delivers his servant David from the deadly sword.
11 Deliver me and rescue me from the hands of foreigners whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful.
12 Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace.
13 Our barns will be filled with every kind of provision. Our sheep will increase by thousands, by tens of thousands in our fields;
14 our oxen will draw heavy loads. There will be no breaching of walls, no going into captivity, no cry of distress in our streets.
15 Blessed are the people of whom this is true; blessed are the people whose God is the LORD.
I think that this is the Mindset they were giving Eko when he was telling Yemi about how flying the Drugs out of Nigeria would help; the battle and the peace that follows.

So why was Eko in Australia???
He was following the plane...he had probably tracked it there. And Charlie was using the same type of Heroin that was in the bag.
He then knew that they were going to LA. Eko was probably tracking his brother. My theory.

Your idea sounds reasonable about why Eko was in Australia. However, there is something that bugs me. If he was simply tracking the plane, I'd say he surely does dress up nicely for a long flight. Do you postulate that the Nigerian drug plane was flying East from Nigeria to Australia and then Los Angeles? If Eko was following the plane, he would have known the final destination, and it must have been somewhere in the US.
I agree with you that Eko probably just went back and took over for his brother. He didn't go through seminary training and ordination.

My thinking is this... He knew the plane was going to someplace, I don't think it went to Australia first. I think that there was quite a bit of time between the incident at the airfield and Eko looking for his brother. I believe that Eko presumed his brother was dead, and so carried on the church. However, sometime later, he got a letter from his brother, informing him as to what has been going on. I think that he was "Coerced" into participating in the drug smuggling, which they have been doing in several different countries. Yemi lets Eko know that they are going to Australia at which point Eko decides to find his brother now that he knows he's alive. Eko gets to Australia and learns that the plane was there, but it has been quite some time since he has been there...maybe 6 months or so. But Eko learns that the plane's next destination was Los Angeles possibly by way of Hawai'i. (There is NO way a plane that small could make it all the way to LA from Australia) Since it has been several months, Eko immediately boards a plane to Los Angeles...Flight 815. The rest as they say...Is history. That is MY crackpot theory! What Do you all think? Jack? (since apparently I am your fangirl now! teehee

You're saying that Eko's brother recovered from the gunshot wound?
I think he did not and after refueling somewhere (maybe even a couple times) they ended up going down in the South Pacific. I think this was their first and last drug run in that plane.
Eko could have decided to track the plane when he failed to hear from his associate or he DID hear from the guys on the other end waiting for the shipment. I don't know.

My reason for saying that his brother survived, and this is the ONLY thing I am basing it on...Is the fact that there was Hair on his brother's head.
Go back and look.
There are THREE explainations...
1. His brother survived long enough to grow some hair back
2. The Continuity experts made a HUGE error.
3. They were low on cash and decided to use only one dummy prop for the dead Nigerians and hoped that no one would notice.
take your pick.
I think that Eko's brother died long after the events. Maybe there was an Indiana Jones event where there was one parachute and the other guy took it. Yemi tried to "land" the plane but died on impact. That plane was pretty well in one piece for having no one to try and put it down.
This is just my theory going off of what we were given in the episode.

What do you think of this explaination?

One thing I got from "The Other 48 Days" was that Mr. Eko had been out of the life of a drug kingpin for some time. The Eko who cracked open the noggins of the Others who raided the camp was not the same Eko who casually slit the throats of the Middle-Eastern drug runners. What happened in between or how long it took, I don't know, but I don't think Eko was looking for the plane. He seemed to be comfortably settled into civilian life.

Surely they would have cleaned the bloody handprint off of the wall if they were going to use the plane repeatedly. I still vote that it was the only drug run for Eko's brother. Hair and nails appear to "grow" after death because the other tissues shrink from dehydration.
Maybe the apparent time lapse is because Eko had searched for clues, given up, and just recently got a new lead.

It could be, but I rewatched the episode again, and it is two different dummies for the Nigerians, and that hair is pretty long and curled.
I don't think that they have done many drug runs, but that it has been one drug run with many stops.
Also, when I watched the episode again, I noticed that they never show where yemi gets shot. You only hear the shots ring out and then see Yemi reacting to the shots.
He may have been shot somewhere that wasn't a fatal wound...

I thought so too, but I watched it again and I am 98.76% sure you see him from the chest up reacting, but not an actual chest shot. ...but there is that 1.24% chance I'm wrong.
