WOW.. Alpert: What ever Jacob said to do, don't. Jack: What are you going to do? Alpert: Die. ... so Jacob is evil.. ... so does Locke's statement about seeing Richard out of chains really mean Jacob was holding him hostage? (possibly in addition to whatever happened on the Black Rock.)

oh yeah.. and Miles knowing about Nikki/Paolo's diamonds and burial.. awesome!
and pretty good explanation of Jacob's "submission" to Ben, that he believed in Ben till his death. Sucker!

Hydra Island, eh? Leaving from there? On a certain mostly intact airplane, landed by the best pilot ever?

Doesn't have supreme power, but still power through manipulation

Nice happy ending, and oh snap, Widmore.. Daddy's Home!
Overall a good episode.. Nothing too crazy (especially for a Ben episode!), but overall very good story..

Brilliant episode I thought. Just when I thought I would side with MIL, Ilana says that she would accept Ben as well.
Also, with the appearance of "The Chosen" by Chaim Potok, I would lean more towards Jacob and MIL being brothers.
All in all, this season just keeps getting better and better. I thought the scene between Ben and Ilana was just fantastic.
Something else interesting, it seems like both Ben and Jack showed transitions this episode. Jack showed faith while Ben showed humility. Amazing!

Mm, Team Jacob has Ben.... And Ben didn't die! All is right with the world. Love how Jack's craziness in the Black Rock is exactly the sort of crazy good ol' Locke would have done. A+ Jack.

Yup, not a big Jack fan, but he was great tonight. Maybe because he's summoning a little of my ol' Locke.
Well, obviously if Team Jacob has Ben, then its Team Evil !
And I forgot to mention, I think we got confirmation in the Sideways tonight that everything was the same up until The Incident, when presumably the Linus' were evacuated from The Island just beforehand.

Yeah, it certainly seems that way. But Roger and Ben seem unaware that the Island in underwater now.

Totally thought Ben was going to blast himself to smithereens. Glad he didn't, though! It's so cool to see his character FINALLY start to turn his life around.

How about big Charlie W cruising around in a mini sub like some kind of Batman villain? I thought it was cool to see him on the way home but also, it was a bit like the Penguin. You know, little sub, crewed with lackeys, giving vague orders. It felt a little comical to me. I think my favorite part was when Sideways Ben started to formulate his "Machiavellian" strategy. It was more of a testament to Michael Emerson's acting ability I suppose. He just stood there as a grand plan unfolded in his mind like Island Ben would have. Then he executed. That was good stuff.

Haha, Batman....
Here's something to discuss: MIL told Ben that someone still had to look after the Island when he and everyone else left. Do you think this is the truth or was it a lie to manipulate Ben? If it was the truth, do you really think MIL meant it when he said he thought Ben was the perfect choice?

Love how Jack's craziness in the Black Rock is exactly the sort of crazy good ol' Locke would have done. A+ Jack. Yeah but this one is a little different. Lock's faith was just that, faith. He had little reason to actually think what he did. Other than the whole 'I can walk thing', which is important. Jack on the other hand had faith because of a culmination of things including his most recent act of vandalism, the lighthouse. A structure which defied all reason. I feel like Lock was the kind of guy who just believed, while Jack needed convincing to get that crazy. A+ Jack still though. Good episode!
