my vote is for star wars only because i did not read the lotr books and believe it or not i did not really like the lotr movies. yeah they were ok but i don't really think it was oscar material.

Star Wars was the first movie I watched with my daddy!! (many years ago)
I still haven't seen LOTR.

Star Wars, no question is the leader here, its almost not even a fair contest. Star Wars has a better story, better characters, and better visuals than Lord of the Rings by a long shot.

I love star wars, but I thought the last three films kinda....wern't as good lol. LOTRs was one huge fiilm, filmed at once. Plus hot jay voted for it...and my man charlie lol. I love star wars but LTRS is just better to me...and

I have to go with Star Wars on this one. As much as I love the Lord of the Rings (read the books in high school and now own all 3 DVD releases) my first movie memory is seeing the Return of the Jedi in the theater. Star Wars will always hold a special place in my heart.

If this versus was "Lord of the Rings" vs "Star Wars Episode IV, V, VI" it would be Star Wars hands down. But since we have "Star Wars Episode I, II, III" to consider, I gotta give it to "Lord of the Rings."

Lotr may have the Lost connection, but I have to go with Start Wars, simply because it reminds me of my childhood. Empire was the first "real", non-kiddie, non animated movie I saw. Mom made me cover my eyes when Han cut open the Tantan's guts. AH, what wonderful memories!
