I think whatever religion you are, you should believe it.
I'm catholic (acutaly, in Lost, they got some stuff wrong about what Eko said, Immaculate actulay means born without sin, and basicly most Christans believe Chirst was baptized out of humility, not to wash himself of sins, since most Christans believe Jesus is God and stuff) bu but they meant well lol)

Atheist, but that word's pretty loaded (witness the "Atheists generally have a very elitist attitude..." generalization earlier in this thread) and I don't think it's 100% accurate for me.
The term I think gets closer to the truth of what I believe is Secular Humanism (www.secularhumanism.org), which is not a religion but a philosophy. The secular humanist philosophy hinges on scientific inquiry, logic, tolerance, individual freedom, human rights, compassion--basically, the belief that as a human being you have to do good things for its own sake, because it benefits humanity, and without a belief in the supernatural. We believe that our morality and ethics come from an appreciation for all other people.
I was raised Catholic and was an altar boy for 6 years. I don't knock anybody for wanting to believe in whatever. It works for many people, just not for me. The philosophies behind a lot of organized religions is OK ("be nice," "don't hurt people," "love your parents," etc.), but personally I can't make myself believe in the rest of it.
