Ha Ha. Funny. Like the old joke, "Did you hear the one about the agnostic dyslexic who stayed up all night wondering if there really is a Dog?" I always enjoy that joke. The way i heard it he was an insomniac too: "What do you get if you cross an Dyslexic, an Insomniac, and an Agnostic? A guy who stays up at night wondering if there's a dog." ;D

I was raised non-denominational Church of Chirst- which in theory is pretty cool. Everyone believes that Jesus is the son of God, and I think most believe in baptism, but the details were once intended to be versatile. I go to a church however that is very set in it's ways, and they are less open to other possibilities. I was raised to avoid people of other religions, my parents only once let me attend a church that they didn't agree with, (possibly because I started crossing myself after each prayer- I was five, it looked COOL, and it felt right to put a physical movement to something emotional to close it off.) For a long time in high school, I really focused on Catholicism, trying to understand it's many facets. Loved the music, loved the art,(still do actually) liked some of the ideas, and couldn't embrace some of the other ideas. So, in the end it wasn't for me. In college, I had a mormon roommate, a muslim roommate, a unitarian roommate (she never really explained it to me) and a Presbyterian roommate (I think that's what she was anyway). My mormon roommate lied to us all, and drank caffeine, and used dirty words, and slept around... NOT at all what a good mormon girl does,- but at the time, I thought she represented all mormons. I did like though that she had a tight knit family, and that she was able to turn to them at any time for anything. That's one point for the Mormons. My muslim roommate was probably my favorite, she was a woman of morals, but she wasn't overzealous. I happened to share a room with her after 9/11, and it really bothered me that she got calls asking if she was bin Laden's neice, JUST because she was Mormon. It was Fairfax, we were 15 minutes from the Pentagon- it was a scary time, but still, she didn't deserve what she got. Her theory on religion was that all good people will be rewarded in the after life. My other two roommates were typical American college girls, ready for a good time, and ready to appologize on Sunday. I'm mentioning college, because that's when things changed for me. I didn't go to church in college becausae I didn't have a ride. My tuition was hinging on me going to church though, and when I didn't attend the church my mom chose for me, she cut off my funds. I became bitter after that, and church didn't interest me. For a year I didn't step foot in a church, much to the dismay of my entire family. I was angry because they- my mom and my church had judged my relationship with God- something I felt they had no right to do. I didn't realize I was just confirming what they thought. Then I moved back home, and started going to church. I work in the nursery, because that makes them happy, and I don't have to listen to a sermon. I started studying other religions again, I read a book called Just Add Buddha that I really loved. I made friends with "pagans," who one day handed me a tarot deck, and I have been learning to use it. I have read up many things, and am open to many things, but I haven't quite found what is for me yet. A part of me yearns for the safety of knowing there is a God looking out for you, protecting you, but a part of me is afraid that is not the case. Maybe given time, I'll end up where Dragavan is, maybe I'll reestablish my faith. It was so much easier to believe as a child, when I didn't know and see all that I do now... It's like Locke and his button, if nothing happens, he'll probably begin to lose faith too. ~oi, I hope this isn't too long and boring.

I was pretty much raised from a little boy in the church as a born again Christian. I'll be 21 in two weeks and, unlike most raised up in the church, my faith has only grown more and more. My parents (actually divorced, so just my mom) never forced anything on me. She only told me what she believed was right and let me choose to acknowledge it or not. I have a personal relationship with my savior, Jesus. I still love to learn as much as I can about other beliefs for my own sake.

Same here ^^
My family were Jehovah's Witnesses 'till I was like 8-13ish. (Can't really quite place it) Turns out there's a Jehovah's Witness here so I'll just keep my opinions on that to myself.
