hmm. mine aren't even *close* to any of the ones you've listed.... in no particular order: The Cure Pixies They Might Be Giants Franz Ferdinand U2 although this list is pretty fluid. I can't say from one day to the next - maybe Cracker, or Muddy Waters, or The Killers might be on it.. I love They Might Be Giants and Franz Ferdinand! I just didn't think to put them on my list. Have you got FF's new album? It's pretty sweet. Not yet, but I've got some of the tracks off iTunes...looking forward to actually having the cd this Christmas though. It's funny that people have found They Might Be Giants off homestarrunner...I saw them LIVE in 1990. Crazy. Now you've gone and made me feel all old and stuff.

Not meaning to revive a dead topic or anything, but there's still room for discussion, so why not. In no particular order:
Coheed and Cambria (not all that mainstream but one of the best modern rock bands IMO) Led Zeppelin (Kashmir, Achilles Last Stand, etc. It's all good stuff.) Weezer (Listened to them forever, so they've got a special place.) Red Hot Chili Peppers ('Nuff said.) Oasis (Same as above.)
I wanted to give Jay the biggest high five in the galaxy when he mentioned Co&Ca in one of the podcasts weeks ago.

Ok, here are my 5 (no particularly order -- and some change often ... also not including hawaiin bands that are high on my list):
G. Love and Special Sauce (smooth guitar cords and lyrics) Ben Harper (some of the best accoustic guitar songs ever) Beastie Boys (classic snowboarding music) 311 (same as above) Black Eyed Peas (nice beats)

Um, I wasn't exposed to a lot of music as a kid and I HATE the pop music they play at my job, so I'm going to devote my whole top list to....
THE BEATLES!!!!
