hey jay, in the next month, ill be getting a Macbook ( not pro).
this is the first time i will get a mac, as i have grown up on windows
i just want to know what your opinion is on Mac's
preferably thier media capabilities, cos ive heard they are excellent for stuff like that ( and podcasts with a program called garage band is it? )

There awesome awesome awesome, there wouldnt be our podcast if i didn't have a Mac. There wouldnt be the cool enhanced feed, no vidcasts. no Jay and Jack (well there would be but you wouldn't have heard us) So yea Mac's are awesome because of there media capabilities. Once you get it take some time and play with all of the stuff on it. Then you'll get the hang of it  Congrats!! |

swweeeett! ill defiantely play around with it, especialy the built in camera  when i had a playtest of one in my local store i was messing with the camera effects for hours lol |

I'm gettin a a macbook too!!! it was supposed to be here already, but the shipping was delayed. anyway, im super excited, though like you, i've grown up on windows!!!

How's Mac better then the PCs? The only Macs I have really had expeereince with, are from school and those really old ones, and they all suck. Mac leaves a bad taste in my mouth haha

macs are better then pc's in every way possible (i type this from a pc)
i'm planning on getting a mac book when i go to college, as i'll need/want a laptop for college, and i've needed/wanted a mac for a long time now.
...stupid dell.

Mac books are the best possible computer for a college student. But if you have to have windows *vomits slightly* get a Thinkpad. Those are good.

Hope no one minds the new guy stepping into this conversation, but I couldn't resist. I've been a huge Apple fanboy since the Apple II days. I still have a Apple IIe that I start up once in awhile. I was at Macworld last January when they revealed the Macbooks and preordered one that week. I absoulutely love it.
Jay, as a musician do you use just Garageband or the pro apps like Soundtrack Pro?

I adore my Mac, I got a Powerbook for my 18th birthday in February... but I do find the transition hard, because there are so many things it can't do that I have to borrow my mom's computer to do instead... like play the games I like, and use Photoshop (I am not a millionaire! By the way, anyone know anywhere to get a legal freeware version or something because I have no older brother with friends who can get me one, and I can only find demo versions, and GraphicConverter sucks!), and access my bank account online... the video editing program is annoying as well because I can't get it to divide imported vids into scenes, and I miss my Movie Maker even though it sucks But it's not like I can afford Premiere, lol! Also, Denmark is not big on the Mac merchandise, in fact only one store carries Mac products (very limited, no programs except Word) besides from the Macstore in the capital, which is far away from where I live and I've never been there... still I'm sticking to Mac, and I love my iPod, but ...what exactly are the best benefits in your opinion? The display and sounds rock compared to my old laptop, but I haven't really dared to explore the system so much because my mother would kill me if something happened... and since I can't use Garageband for comments, do you guys have a Skype number? A bit off topic... but it's relevant |
