yeah I got the 3 year plan so if anything wrong goes on inside this thing (not like dropping it or physical damage) they will fix it for no additional cost

it looks to me like a new OS maybe and I think the plan for the next ipod is ipod media where the whole front side of the ipod is a screen and when you touch it the wheel lights up

I heard about, but I don't think that will go over well. The screen would get too damaged after awhile. Guess you'd need a protector of some sort.

I don't think there are any new computers or iPods coming out soon. Except maybe a Video iPod. I'm pretty sure there is a new OS though, "Leopard"

Apple just submitted some interesting patents around using capacative touch screen interfaces where you would rotate your thumb/finger slightly above the surface of the screen without touching it and the controls would come up and let you use them. Might help a little with smudges and scratches, but the scratch thing will happen just through use.
Macs have a much better media suite of products for the general consumer, so if you are into video editing or audio editing and are a novice user the mac is much better.
Most of the professional apps are about the same PC to Mac. Macs are generally more secure and do not have to worry about virus and spyware as much. PCs are generally just better for games - many more choices and the games are almost always optimized for the PC first. Macs tend to be more stable and the OS is more friendly and usable. If you really look at what Microsoft is touting about Vista, you'll see most of the features are ones that the Mac has had for a long while. I was at CES watching a number of their presentations and it was just sad to see the sales guys making a big deal over stuff that Apple really invented. Oh finally, for business stuff, the PC is still king by a long shot, so if you are on that side of life, having a PC is a bit easier in terms of compatibility and such. The mac does a decent job at working very well with PCs, but it's still not quite the same.
This comes from being a long time mac head who uses both PCs and Macs at work. My first mac was a Mac SE.

Tucker out! Just to note, Apple rarely lowers the price much, they just make a cooler version for the same price, they may lower something like 50 bucks but nothing extreme There are some great free apps, iSquint, and Adium are ones im using a lot at the moment, but there are plenty of others to explore and find out. In all honesty iLife 06 has a lot to explore for a while.

I'm kinda bummed that I got a dell laptop before I knew about macs. So my next one might be mac for when I go to college. (college scary thought!)
A question for all you educated mac users: What are some bad things about macs, all I hear are good things, there must be some flaws. mostly asking about the macbooks.
