While I am surprised that so many people thought it was unclear-- I guess this is the only fitting response for a Lost finale. I believe a lot of people where initially befuddled will in time see the intent of the story arc. Thank goodness for the Internet, its giving those who are lost, their redemption.

I'm kinda confused as to why so many people think that the losties all died on the plane. Did I miss something? I thought Christian explained it when he said "some died before you some died after you" like they didn't all die together in the crash? Guess it's time to rewatch it with the subtitles on...

Well I'm kinda fed up with all the patronizing, condescending jerks who think they have it all figured out. The FINALE answered Nothing! Remember the mystery of the island. The story they had mapped out all along. They made up everything in between and it had no story arc behind it. So stick your heads back in the sand. Perhaps if you go deep enough you'll find an underground cave with a f**king light from god only knows where ......... what the f**k??? They answered nothing, and if you can't be angry and disastisfied about this, then your just to dumb to realize you've been taken.

Womaninwhite, you didn't miss anything. How Christian explained it was pretty clear (to me and a lot of others at least) that none of the past 6 years of "real world" were negated by anything...It all happened and it all happened just as we saw it, but as our characters' lives came to a close in reality, they all came to the "limbo" before moving on to the afterlife together. The dying before you and after you comment was a perfect indication that the Ajira people lived on and that Hurley and Ben had a life on the island after Jack died.
Since the pilot aired, we all have been trying to figure out how it would end, and I have to admit over the last couple of months, I just kind of unplugged my brain to let Darlton just lead me through it. I was not really expecting the end to be how it was, but I am so happy it ended how it did. Such a happy ending (that everyone was worried would not occur) and an emotional finale.
Someone else posted that real men do cry and all I can say is...hell yeah they do haha. I was a wreck all throughout, and especially with Kate's "I have missed you so much" comment at the concert about did me in! Don't mean to sound too much like a fanboy, but I truly loved the episode and am VERY satisfied with how they concluded it.

I think the main reason some people think they died on the plane is the plane wreckage that was part of the end credits. But personally I agree with the limbo/purgatory theories that I have been reading.

I guess I'm dumb......I can understand everything I feel I need to. That's more than most people like yourself will ever get though. Oh well, back to the sandbox......

People, just because somebody got upset is no reason for all of this. I mean, is this picking on people for spelling really worth it? Or even because of whether they liked the episode or not? The producers said that this episode wouldn't be for everyone. I personally enjoyed it, but I'm not going to be mad when somebody says they didn't, no matter how crudely or rudely. Lost was a wonderful show. Some would say from beginning to end, and others from the beginning to the second to last episode. It's a pity that it can't be enjoyed by all, but you can't please everyone. Let's just let everybody have their opinions.

I agree come on let's chill out. I do kind of see the point in ant's arguments - people are being patronizing to the ones who say they aren't satisfied. They're pretty much calling them dumb, and that's rude.
Let them not like it - don't insult their intelligence. Let them vent their frustrations - it is a forum after all right?
I still haven't rewatched it but after reading a lot of comments here I think I understand it now. They certainly went for an all out spiritual approach. The sci-fi-ish elements that poked through here and there though... they were kind of discarded as a part of the whole but not essential - I get that. But a lot of people aren't OK with that, and come on, don't blame them. I kinda hoped there was more to the mystery of the island too. But I still like the finale. I think I like it a bit more now than I did when I watched it.
In the end what mattered were the characters - seeing them and what happens to them is what matters. As a Locke fan I'm sooooooooo happy about the ending there. And I felt like Ben's story is one of the most compelling - even though it felt like he was a background character in this last season I thought the final hours of Ben Linus made up for it. I loved his fate and Hurley's --- the ultimate disturbed guy and the ultimate lovable-good guy, working together.
And though I sniffled in a lot of parts, Sun and Jin's realization moment wa def the most moving one for me. Claire's and Kate's came close.
The surprising one was Sayid's and Shannon's. While i loved Shannon's character and was deeply disappointed when she was outed in that horrible manner in Season 2 - I felt like it was a bit misplaced to have her there be the one for Sayid when they continuoussly made it to be Nadia the one that Sayid loved most. I guess they chose her because she was the one in the island and the whole point was that the island was the most important time in all of their lives... but still... they insisted on Nadia so often that it felt a bit weird to have Shannon be the one in the end. Am I the only one who felt that?

That's the whole point.....people can be so distraught and vitriol over a show....a tv show. If you can't make fun of someone for being an idiot on the internet, then when is it appropriate? I for one, believe it's our duty to knock guys like that down a notch or two when they overstep their boundaries and call everyone else dumb for accepting what they're given......jmho.... .....and the trademarking, that's just fun. (and it promotes proper grammar and spelling on the 23 internets) ....gawd, I hope I spelled everything right....

About the whole Nadia thing, I feel that Sayid saw her as unreachable. For all that time, ahe was just that woman far away. A mere idea. He chose shannon because he could never have Nadia and he knew it.
