Hi Guys!
No contest... Jack ran away with this one. Full House as a #1 choice. Jay I expected better.

What about the theme song to Buffy the Vampire Slayer? No words, but it rocks!

OK - my Top 10 - in no real order of preference - I'll listen to any of them at any time.
1. Doctor Who (the new series - recorded by an orchestra - much better) 2. M*A*S*H (yeah - the movie version because the lyrics are cool) 3. Gilligan's Island (it tells the story of a group of people who are lost on a strange island ) 4. Miami Vice (hated the show because of all the trendiness that surrounded it - loved the music) 5. Hawaii 5-0 ("Book 'em Dan-o" - not much you can say other than it's the perfect song) 6. The Jeffersons ("Hey, we're movin' on up" - people still quote those lyrics) 7. The X Files (The truth is out there - and you know it - 1013 - fight the future) 8. The Fresh Prince of BelAir (it's Will Smith and it mentions Philly - nuff said) 9. Hill Street Blues ("Be careful out there.") 10. The 4400 (just a cool show)
There ya have it - OUT!

I loved Jack's list! Although, my memory isn't as good as his. I knew all the songs as they went on, but it took me a bit to remember them. It wasn't instant. I am impressed by how much you remember, even if it is TV songs.
I thought it was funny that you said Heather Thomas for the Fall Guy, I do remember that being a conversation in the past about which one was better.
Jay's songs were OK, especially MASH, Fresh Prince and the Pink Panther, but didn't care for most of the others, actually hadn't heard of most of the others. Obviously this is a generational thing.

I remember Denver, the last Dinosaur. It was a pretty ridiculous show. I've got to say, even though I love Jack's list, Jays is better. Fresh Prince would have been my number 1, followed closely by the Gilmore Girls theme song, just because I love Carole King.

I'm closer in age to Jay and grew up with the same shows (snorks, Fresh Prince, TMNT, Cap'n Planet, and I even remember Denver). But Jack's list rocked my face off, then kicked my face's butt. Half the songs had guitar wah-wah pedal in them!
10 of my favorites in no particular order:
- Laverne and Shirley ("Shlemiel! Shlemozzle!") - Miami Vice - CHiPs - The Love Boat - Family Ties - Magnum PI - Soap - The Match Game - Benny Hill - You Can't Do That On Television
but my Number 1 favorite:
- Three's Company!
Honorable mentions: Benson, King of the Hill, Mr. Belvedere, The Jeffersons, and Happy Days (naturally)

Hold on a sec. Take off CHiPs and put The Brady Bunch on there. Can't believe I forgot that one.

Jack lost me with the totally lame The Fall Guy theme written by Glen Larson. It reminded me why Glen Larson was so awful as a writer. He did redeem himself with the themes of Starsky & Hutch, S.W.A.T., The Rockford Files and Sanford and Son. Those themes killed everything on Jay's list. I usually agree with Jay but this challenge was where I had to part ways with him. Fresh Prince? That was surpassed in its lame quotient by Denver the last Dinosaur and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This was brutal indeed.

Sorry, Jay. I had to smite you, not only for putting that cheesy Full House song as your number one pick and letting everyone on your generation down, but making that freaking Denver song a part of my daily life. Please Lord and/or Jacob, get this frikking song out of my head!
Jack, your list was awesome. I watched a lot of those shows with my dad growing up and it brought back some memories. Thanks and mucho exaltation-os!

Jack gets my vote.
I like the theme to Mysterious Cities of Gold. And Magnum PI.
Best current one - it slim pickings but I'll go for Weeds.

Sorry Jay. You put both Full House AND Family Matters theme songs on your list. those shows are officially banned from my television. I don't care how technically good they could be, those shows are so awful that they cannot be saved nor forgiven for being on your list. Jack's list was awesome.

man, I'm at work and I'm legitimately angry about Jay's list. where's the transformers? gi joe? Jem? Miami Vice (on either list)? Growing Pains... on and on. I wish I could vote for Jack twice.
