I love all of those movies, but need to vote for Planes, Trains and Automobiles. We watch it every Thanksgiving. My husband would divorce me if I didn't vote for that one. I like it too, but it's a close tie for me with Ferris.
I have to agree with Jack that Miracle is a great movie. Just like Apollo 13, you know the outcome, and yet you are still on the edge of your seat and cheering!
A movie that you have to watch....Money Pit. It has Shelley Long and Tom Hanks. It is one of the funniest movies i've seen. If you are thinking of buying a home that is a 'fixer-upper' or if you are doing some repairs on your place, you need to see this movie.
Anyway, thanks for the show. Look forward to both shows everyweek!

Wow, this was a hard one, I love all these movies, but I had to vote for Ferris.... Fave quote: Ed: What's the score? Clerk: 0-0 Ed: Who's winning? Clerk: the Bears.. and: Jeanne: (to Ed) I've called the police, and I have a scorching case of herpes..

Growing up in Chicago, many of the John Hughes movies have special significance to me because they were set in the windy city. "Ferris Buehler" illustrated so many things that were part of our lives growing up in Chicago. From the rich kids living in the North Shore, afternoon baseball at Wrigley Field, to trips to the top of the Sears Tower Ferris truly lived our dream day out of school.
Although, as much as I loved "Ferris Buehler" I voted for "16 Candles". I remember watching some "16 Candles" 20 year anniversary special on VH1 and they tracked down Jake Ryan. He just left show business shortly after making the movie and went to Pennsylvania to make furniture. Bizarro!

How has no one voted for Wierd Science? I guess I will be the first...come on people Chet the brother, make a woman who is completely perfect in your eyes and has magic powers. It a great movie, and Chet is for America, I guess I see why Jay may not like it

For me this is the hardest vs you've ever had. I LOVE all these movies (except for PT&A, good movie but I don't love it like the others).
Jake Ryan is so amazing - I remember watching that movie and then wishing he were my boyfriend lol.
For a great High school caper flick you can't beat Ferris. My husband says Risky Business is better, but I compeltely disagree. Besides there truly is no better CEO than Abe Froman the Sausage King. And a druged out Charlie Sheen hitting on high-school girls......aaahh some things never change....
Wierd Science...come on how do you beat bras on heads, turd Chet, and grandparents in the freezer. Truly a movie I can watch over and over.
But I have to choose The Breakfast Club. I can't even begin to wrap my head around the fact that there are now people who have never seen this movie. But it still holds up (Jay it does!). I should clarify - it still holds up as long as you are NOT watching it on basic cable. Maybe it's because I was a complete outcast/misfit in high school, or maybe it's the amazing song, or maybe it's because it shows that just because you've been labeled one way doesn't mean that's who you are. I don't know but to me it is the best movie he ever made.
Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think you're crazy to make an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain... ...and an athlete... ...and a basket case... ...a princess... ...and a criminal...
Does that answer your question?... Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club.
