I was thinking, when LOST ends which hopefully won't be for a while, will the islanders be rescued? If they do get help, I believe they may choose to stay on the island. I know it sounds crazy why they would stay, but how can they go back to everyday life, after the relationships they have built with eachother, and after the experiences. Maybe help will never come...

I think that we won't get the answers to that for a loooong time. But I do expect that certain characters will *leave* the island by one means or another. It would get kind of ridiculous if they didn't.

True, they'd most likely leave if rescued, but it will be one sad goodbye.

I can imagine that, when they leave the island they're not going to leave the people behind too..at least not all of them. Charlie already asked Claire if she wanted to live with him for a while once they were rescued (although she may not want to after she see's what's in his statue). Kate is the only one that would have to be seperated from the rest by either jail or another run from the law. Otherwise, I think they'll all keep in touch. I think people to that a lot after going through a trauma together.
I hope some of them do get off the island and the show doesn't end with either all of them dying or them staying on the island for good (which I think would only happen if they became "Others"). It wouldn't be kind of disappointing is they didn't...

That would be such a mean twist, at the end they all become the others...and as the rescue helicopters land. There's an ambush and they kill their rescuers...
I think if rescue people came, the others would try to attack them before the islanders could escape.

i great twist would be if the island was all a prank and nobody got killed and it is really a REALITY SHOW..and somebody is going home a millionare!!! Horaaayy

hope everyone leaves the island..personally i would leave and get on the rescue plane/boat whatever in a heartbeat...and get back to normal life...
