Hi, This is my first post so i'll be brief and hopefully not make a TOTAL fool of myself.... There are some (Sawyer, Kate and Locke) that I believe will likely stay on the island (if they don't get killed..). Not only are they getting a "fresh start"... but their lives on the island are significantly better than their recent experiences back in the world.
Assuming that this isn't purgatory... and they are actually still alive... why would they leave? David ~

You're not making a fool of yourself, Welcome! I know, Locke seems like the kind of guy who's want to stay. OOh, would his legs go back to paralyzed after leaving? I wonder.

I could definately see Kate staying on the Island. I think that the people on the Island like Kate enough to say that she died. I think that Sawyer will end up working through his "Sawyer issues" dealt with and will stay on the Island, as long as their relationship continues.

Interesting. But what if Kate and Jack (shepard) end up together?

I really, really hope they don't create a cheesy ending like the whole thing was a reality show or a dream or something...anything would be better than that.

I don't know how many of you have watched the audio commentary, but they are really good, and Dom's is hilarious on "The Moth." However they were talking about things to do so that if the pilot didn't get picked up they could still do something with it (i.e. release it as a movie to DVD) and one of the Ideas they had was that they would all be on the beach at the end and two guys would come out of the woods and tell them that they were in Florida or something like that. Hilarious If I remember correctly, there was a movie like that where a group of people were stranded on an island and then it turned out that they were just on the other side of the Island from a resort. That is what I have always been upset about, because they didn't explore the perimiter of the Island. OH well, they had better not do that for an ending.

Ha that would be a funny and very lame ending at the same time.

Yeah, those commentaries are sweet. I think the reason I like Charlie is because Dom's so funny. Not to mention the creators! I think it shows where the show gets its subtle macabre humor. ;D

I sort of have an idea that it will come down to 6 people. Perhaps 5. With the whole idea that it originally began as a scripted 'Survivor' meaning that people would get voted off in effect until they were down to the last few. I don't know if all the rest of the people will die or be captured, it seems more and more unlikely they will die because even incidental characters are building large fan bases who would moan like hell when their favourite person dies. I digress, so the final 5 could be Hurley, Locke, Kate, Jack and Sayid. They will be the ones to confront whatever hideous destiny awaits them and there will probably be a 'winner' in a sense. Someone who conquers their inner demons and whatever challenges the island poses.
Kate has the most to lose and it might be her who is most determined. Sayid had the Gilgamesh allusion, so i think he fails. Hurley is the token fat guy from that other Jeffrey Abrams production 'Armageddon' who is basically cannon fodder. Jack has a huge head and Locke will be useless when he loses his ability to walk again.
Yeah, I'm rambling. Give me a few months and I might have a coherent theory of everything.

I agree with your other statement that people will be upset when their favorite character is no longer on the show. They may lose viewers, but you may be right.

I hope my favorite character doesn't die or anything, but wait, my fav. character is Jack, they can't kill him, they'd deff. lose viewers.

Guess what, addboy. The writers originally were going to kill Jack off at the end of the pilot episode! Can you believe that? Basically Disney said, "No. You can't kill him." Whew!

I know! Kate was supposed to be the heroine. She was going to be the one who was on a search for her husband and ended up falling for a guy in their group. Glad they didn't kill Jack off!!!
