The board is more than just a LOST board. We talk about a lor of things on here and get to know one another. If we're going to move forward, we need to settle disputes like this, otherwise we'd fight like this all the time. If we just get it out of the way now, we can put it behind this and learn more about how to deal with in the future.
But seriously, in the last hour, I've gone from sticking up for thepiedpiper, to calling for his beheading. Seriously, dude, quit while you're behind. Way behind.

oh and the 'oh jesus' remark was directed at this sycophantic comment: "Thank YOU for caring, Ben. It's people like you who help make the world a better place." Hey, don't assume my motives as if you know me. I was just offering words of encouragement as I felt necessary and true. Next time, keeps those kinds of comments to yourself. From your latter posts in here, I gather you don't agree with benxtaron's sentiments - and I think I can safely infer that you wouldn't like there to be rules governing with specific regard what kinds of attitudes and comments one should not use on this forum. However, it looks like you are proving why we DO need such rules. Now, I don't necessarily agree that we should have those kinds of rules. I guess a basic guideline would be needed, but nothing extremely totalitarian. I believe we all can keep up a decent, friendly community here, and still debate our points without passing judgment or offering crude remarks. I think most of us know how to do that. Maybe you can, too. But keep up the kind of attitude you've been displaying in this thread and we'll probably lose all freedom of speech in here. Freedom doesn't mean doing whatever you want with disregard to your neighbor. It means being having the ability to make the RIGHT choices, escaping from the bonds of oppression. What is right and what is wrong? Well, that's an argument that has been going on since the beginning of time and will probably go on until until time ends. Personally, I believe everyone has the same sense of absolute right and wrong since they were born. It's been proven from society to society, even amongst the most secluded people groups. So don't tell us you can slander someone (referring to your comment about my comment being sycophantic) and say it's righteous of you to do so. Freedom of speech is a wonderful, precious gift. Use it carefully and don't take it for granted.

I love how sorrycharlie gives this in depth answer to your childishness, and you shoose to take the easy route and call me out. You're being a first-class a-hole and you know it. just give it up and go to bed. I know that's what I'm doing.
Thanks, benxtaron and sorrycharlie, as you've actually shown me something I hadn't quite noticed up until now. I do hope we can all work to maintain the beauty of this board .

Just one question...what does this have to do with "Lost"? Obvious he is using this forum as a metaphor to what happened during the purge.

Now c'mon people settle down. This is not going to solve anything. If you have a problem with someone, or something someone has said, let them know. Don't attack and gang up on them in a thread. Exhibit A: lostpodcast.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=c&action=display&n=1&thread=2349&page=1Do you see that people, 11 pages of people arguing on how this place is different. It got just as out of hand as this thread is. People's feeling were hurt and guess what, it solved nothing. Please mods lock this thread, it will only continue like this until people are done fighting. Please note in my first post I was not taking sides with anyone, I just made a sarcastic remark about how immature everyone is acting.

what exactly in my posts infer that i don't like rules? all i said was that this whole post was an overreaction to nothing in particular. from that you got that i want to rant and rave about anything i like? that wasn't my point at all. I never said you like to rant and rave about whatever you like and I never said that you don't like rules. I said "I think I can safely infer that you wouldn't like there to be rules governing with specific regard what kinds of attitudes and comments one should not use on this forum." This is the post I was referring to: Rules would be nice. And seriously though, that "oh Jesus" comment was unnecessary unneccesary? oh ok, lets all hug trees ;D isn't this supposed to be a place for debate? i didn't realise i had to give everyone a reach around whilst being here. seriously man, what could anyone possibly say in a post that could cause anyone long term personal distress? i haven't seen anyone being particularly "mean" or "naughty" recently. i mean you can't even say f**k on this board. personally i thought the whole point of this place was to discuss theories and comments about a TV show. sure, everyone should show eachother respect, that's a given. a bit of light banter never hurt anyone. if i wanted romance and flirting i'd go to the pub. to stroke each others fragile egos is a dangerous thing. ;D From this it seems as if you would rather have the freedom to say what you want rather than to be told what you can and can't say. That's the only observation I was making about your stance on rules. I pretty much agree with all you said in that post, except I believe the comment about the reach-around should've been left out. But that's just my opinion. like i said, everyone should show each other respect. which i think i'm doing considering nearly everyone has ganged up on me now. but that's cool. it's all part of a debate. right? i'm not crying into my tea because people have misunderstood what i have said. You disrespected me by assuming I was being sycophantic i am trying to articulate the fact that i personally find ego stroking akin to giving a teacher an apple. at the same time i think to give credit where credit is due is applaudable. but there is a BIG difference. I agree. on a side note, actually the first post you wrote was a sycophantic one (emily from ohio appreciation thread...remember?) just pointing that out. Once again, I was just offering words of encouragement as I felt necessary and true

Can this completely off-topic thread be moved to a more appropriate forum? I believe that there's another forum called 'Miscellaneous' that this thread would be appropriate for.
No offense, but I've no real desire to read about someone's hurt feelings on the 'Lost Questions or Comments' forum...

And against my better judgement, I'll offer an opinion on the original topic of this thread... Maybe there should be a screening process prior to accepting in new members to the forum. You know, one way to keep out the undesirables...
