I still think there should be a playoff system.

I know me too. There is so much money in the BCS it's not even funny.
Notre Dame could be #3 by the end of it all. Woohoo!

I hear that all the time from people. But I dont think there should be a playoff. That OSU-Michigan game had the highest ratings for a regular season game in 13 years, it was one of the best games ive seen, AND, its that good almost every year. OSU-Michigan, bama-auburn, and all the other great rivalries are so great because they happen at the end of the year, when emotions are high and players are in their best form. Think about it, if there was a playoff, troy smith wouldn't have left the bench. Marrio Manningham would be in the lockers. You couldn't blame both coaches for sitting their stars, because there would be no point to the game. okay, maybe in that case the stars would come out, but everyone would be more cautious and not try risky scrambles or dangerous dives. In the NFL, it's not rare at all for a qb to sit for the last 3-4 games if a team is in the playoffs. The bowl system is flawed, but it's not as bad as it could be. It makes the entire season more important.
On the other hand, in support of a playoff: Florida's coach came out a few days ago and said that if USC loses to nd or ucla, and michigan gets the number 2 spot in the bcs, that college presidents around the country should get together and decide on a playoff this year. There's no way that's gunna happen this year, but the situation could certainly lead to action over the summer.
I can see arguments both for and against playoffs, but I say leave it as it is, cuz that's how its been forever and it will seriously change how late-season games are played.

there will be a playoff system within the next five years without question. they are already planning for one and trying out different things to make it work just right. the bcs is just a stepping stone and everyone knew it when they made it. its just not right to have sports writers vote on who they think should be ranked where. the only thing i would miss are the bowl game traditions, but those have already been ruined by the bcs. there is no reason for boise state to be in a bcs bowl. a 16 team playoff is coming so dont worry. go notre dame!

there is no reason for boise state to be in a bcs bowl. So being one of just 2 undefeated teams isn't good enough? last time i checked, your wolverines couldn't do that. Given, they havent played many good teams, but that's still pretty impressive. And michigan fans just want a playoff cuz they always get thumped by osu at the end of the season. And as for sports writers ranking people who they think is best, how else would the top 16 teams be chosen? And as for your comment about we're afraid to play on a neutural site, didn't we play in the big house last year? hmm, wonder what happened there...

Yes I'm pulling for Georgia.
And ND!!! Hopefully there will be no blown calls that put the ball on the 6 instead of inches from the goal line in the 4th quarter like last year at the same game.

*cough* go LSU! Pretty fun game today true dat. i think LSU may actually be as good as michigan. They have a great team, but their road schedule has been harder than i've seen in my life. at florida, at tennesee, at auborn, and at arkansas. i watched the whole game yesterday and that was exciting, especially when daren mcfaden (sp?) took the ball all the way downfield only to have the kickoff returned, then arkansas came half a broken tackle away from returning theirs. soo close. definately one of the better games of the year
