Don't know much about the Royals farm system...

Okayyy....
The Royals are planning to cut loose a former #1 draft pick, a pitcher, whose name I forget.
But the days of being able to field a team with a Brett, a Quisenberry, and a Saberhagen (that great '85 team - which beat my Jays) are pretty much over until MLB invokes some financial balance into the game.

Like I said, we got nothin'. Whine whine. We did have a surprise stand out team of then nobodies I think it was three years ago. That was fun. Then the good players left. Mike Sweeney runs hot and cold.

I did some research, and there are some good players in the KC minors, but a few years away.
The good news for the Red Sox: Looks like Theo may be coming back!

I think the Royals will certainly be improved this next season - probably enough to at least spoil the other teams in the Central a little, with their free-agent signings.
I'd be surprised honestly if Theo DIDN'T come back, at least in some advisory capacity. It seems likely to me. And after all the mess that's gone on in that organization this offseason, to let Manny go now would be a public-relations disaster, I think.

Today's the Hall of Fame vote. Hopefully Rice and Blyleven make it in.

Wrong again. Sutter's in, Rice is out. Dawson's out. Blyleven's out. Gossage is out. It would have been nice if the writers could have gotten their act togther enough to get someone else in. The "bad" news is, Ripken and Gwynn are up next year, so it won't get any easier for the older players to get in next year. sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2286997

Aw, it's just too bad some of the other older guys didn't make it in. Probably their only shot. Be nice to see Ripken and GWynn go in next year, though; they're both class acts.

Sutter was good, but the one guy I always said i'd never want to bat against was Gossage.
Next year I'll be going to Cooperstown, to see Mr. Tony Gwynn be inducted into the HOF.
