I'll be honest, this is in a similar vein as the "watch 30 rock" thread. This show is awesome, and needs new viewers if it's to stay on the air. There... I've been honest and declared my ulterior motives...
That said... Since you love Lost, you are extremely likely to love Veronica Mars. Not enough people realize this, thinking it's a show only for teenage girls. It's not at all; it's neo-noir fiction, and now is the perfect time to start watching!
Some people are dismissive of Veronica Mars, because they've heard about its long-arcing mysteries. They stay away for some of the same reasons people stay away from Lost. Veronica Mars just finished a story arc, and will be finishing this season with five standalone episodes. New viewers will be able to get to know the characters without having to wade through a thick mystery plot. NOW is the perfect time to start watching Veronica Mars.
All of the coolest people love this show. Kevin Smith, Joss Whedon, Stephen King and Damon Lindelof, just to name a few.
Here's a poster, if you want to look at something pretty:
There's more than just the same old reality TV on Tuesday nights. There's Veronica Mars! It may come on right after Gilmore Girls, but these shows have little in common. Watch Veronica Mars on the CW this Tuesday at 9/8 central, and see what everyone is talking about. If you miss it, you can also catch it the next day on the CW website.
Here's a link to the commercial for this week's episode on youtube, if you are still dubious: Un-American Graffiti promo. And, since it's good and this takes me two extra seconds, this is the promo from comic con promoting the entire series: Comic Con trailer
