sin city was cool, 300 was cool also, but i was annoyed cos this iranian guy said its politically incorrect, well ....no it wasnt, the persians were horrific, anyway, why did the scottish accents annoy you, better than your hillbilly alabama accent, some of my friends were put off by the monsters, but i felt that kept the whole epic greek mythical monsters,

I saw it, good movie overall, but no where near as good as Sin City. Still, Sin City is one of the best movies eva in my opinion, so to reach that high was unlikely. My one beef with it is that it didn't explain who won in the end, I am not a history junkie, so I don't know if the Spartans were able to finally drive out the Persians.

Eventually the "Greeks" (there was no true one country called Greece at the time, just a bunch of loosely aligned city states of which Athens and Sparta were the largest and most influential) were able to defeat the Persians and force them out but it was at a place called Salamos not Thermoplolye.

I just love being full of useless history facts. :-)

Just got the graphic novel today, flipped through, it looks totally awesome!

Sorry I have to chime in here. Maybe it has something to do with being female, but I thought this movie was terrible. All that over the top macho-ism! And what were they? Spartans? Not sure I got that the first hundred times. haha

well they were a warrior society that prided themselves on being the best fighters in the world. of course they were pretty macho. When the queen told the king to either come back with his shield or on it (dead), she meant it, a Spartan warrior did not back down once he was in a fight.
