Has anyone else on here seen the movie 300? I just saw it and thought it was an amazing movie to watch. The effects in the movie were very impressive, and the fight scenes were sick(in a good way). Just wanted other peoples opinion. trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhi5x7V3WXE

It was the best episode of Stargate ever. The way that small band of "primitive" warriors were able to stand up against that Goa'uld leader and his Jaffa was amazingly well done. What? It wasn't related to Stargate? What do you mean that Xerxes wasn't a Goa'uld? He had the voice and the look. Seriously? No, just look at him. That is the face of a Goa'uld. He even claimed to be a god. What? Historical? Oh. OH! Yeah, I remember reading that, even though I'm not a big Frank Miller fan. Ok. *clears throat* well... It was one of the best done Comic adaptations ever done. The visuals were beautiful, the action was amazing and brutal, and the story was brilliantly put together. Sure it was stylized and some of the history of it was fudged a bit (like by the 1000's), but it was worth it for the amazing film they made.

I lvoed this movie, but my dire frustration was not that I didn't like it, its just like I felt as if I should've liked it more. The graphics were amazing, and I loved the feel of eing in a video game. I really hope that nto every movie becomes like this, because, tis one of those things that is cool once. Once soemone else does it, it just gets old.
What was my one frustration? Somehow, inspite of everything, I didn't feel in touch with some of the characters. When one character gets his head chopped off, as another man begins to cry, I was sad, but that was it. It didn't really have me caring all that much. I was grossed out. I also thought that in the beginning of the movie, when a few people fall over a cliff, is a bit overdramadic, and a bit to much for the beginning of the story.
But the last 30 minutes totaly makes this movie good. It toaly redeemed any dislike I had (liek thwe random pop rock music in the battle scenes lol).
Oh yes, and the whole strrgate thing...yeah, i ddin't like the awhole thign they did with Paulo's character. it sounded like a freakin Gul'ad froms targate. I found his voice sligtly forced.
Maybe that was my problem. Alot of it seemed forced, from the music, to the god himself.
But the graphics were amazing, the thrid act was almost as good as Lord of the rings, and the actors were outstand. It was great, jus tnot the greatest lol.

I didn't see this movie because I thought it would be a total 'guy' movie and I wouldn't enjoy it. But I'm really surprised to hear that females appreciated it, too. Maybe I should check it out.

Females probably like it because, this is just a guess, the queen gets to kill her rapist.

Finally there is a thread for this movie. I've been too lazy to make one. Me and my friends saw it right when it came out because well, we thought it would be a total guy movie. And it was good enough for us.

I could not wait to see this when I first saw the trailer. I did have the fear it would be too much of a guy movie. I didn't care for Sin City and was afraid this one would be just as disturbing. However, I loved this movie. The reviews I read said the cgi makes it lay flat on the screen which keeps the characters from being engaging. I totally felt for the Spartans. I wanted Leonidas to succeed so much that I wanted to get up and grab a spear and fight with them. I love how much the women of the society were revered and respected. I love the dedication the king had to his people. I can really go for a leader who wouldn't ask his people to do something he wouldn't do. The queen wasn't raped. Her story represented what she was willing to give up for the society and for her king. I loved the slo-mo, speed up, -slo-mo, speed up. The only thing I didn't like was the shots for the king climbing the mountain and Paulo putting his hand on the king's shoulder. That looked ridiculous. I keep hearing about people complaining about the historical inaccuracies or the overt political themes. I say people should go to the movies to be entertained, not educated. And as far as the political overtones? I wasn't bothered.
