I also have not read the book...not a big fan of "Hype Reading" Which is what everyone was doing. NO OFFENSE to any of you who read it, it is just an aversion to books I have. I also can't get a book that has ANYTHING about becoming a "Major Motion Picture" or has movie pictures on it. But I think I am safe to read it now, (as long as it doesn't say "Now a major motion picture" on it ;D) I really liked the book (as others have mentioned). I think it would be a great to read it now since much of the hype has died down and you could read it before the hype resurfaces with the upcoming movie.

Well I got into Dan Brown in the book before, Angels and Demons which is the first book about the character Robert Langdon. I actually thought that book would have been a better movie, but from what i understand they are doing that one next. I hadn't heard that they are making a A&D movie. I agree that I think it would make a better movie, but they probably went with DaVinci Code first because of its widespread popularity.

I am expecting a poor film, purely because I want to be pleasantly surprised by it, rather than expecting an awesome movie and end up being disappointed. Angels and Demons is probably superior to Da Vinci Code, but Deception Point and Digital Fortress don't quite match up to those two. Apparently Brown is currently researching his new Langdon book about Freemasonry in Washington DC. I like to take the same approach ... I'd much rather come out of it being more excited than being let down. Have you heard when he will come out with his next book?

One thing that bothered me was Audreu Tautou's english. It seemed to be so difficult for her and affected her acting for the worse

The book was ok, still haven't seen the movie. Funny since I work at a movie theatre, I get free movies, but I haven't seen it yet. THe one thing that bothered me was the fact that there was so much hype over the book, that when I read it I was disappointed by how "meh" it was.

Hey, not dissing anyone who loved the book. By way of a thriller, it was a decent book, just too much hype ruined the experience for me, mithrandir. But I ain't sayin' it sucked.

Have you read Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six"? Now that is, in my opinion, the opitomy of thrilling books. The ending is so awesome that you feel you are right in the action.
