Well I just saw King Kong again (I like to see movies that I like twice in the theater, yea I'm sick) But there was a trailer for the new Da Vinci Code movie. I love the book, and i think the movie is going to be pretty good. Check out the trailer www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/da_vinci_code/

Can't wait to see the movie! The trailer looks good. I loved the book so hopefully they'll do it justice.

I saw King Kong yesterday for the first time (awesome movie by the way) and saw that trailer too. I've never read the book, but the trailer made me really want to. Especially before the movie is released. It looks really cool. And the soundtrack was intriguing.

(Did you get a little teary eyed at the end Emma)
Yea I really like non-western music I've taken a couple classes on the subject in school. I wasn't to keen on Tom Hanks at first, but i think he can pull it off.

I agree. With Tatou and McKellen, this film has awesome casting. And Howard has the directing chops to pull it off.

C'mon, it has Alfred Molina in it too...the guy from the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark! "Throw me the Idol and I'll throw you the Whip!"
I know he's done other stuff like Doc Oc in Spiderman, but everytime I see him all I can think is...
..."Throw me the Idol and I'll throw you the Whip!" ;D
I also have not read the book...not a big fan of "Hype Reading" Which is what everyone was doing. NO OFFENSE to any of you who read it, it is just an aversion to books I have. I also can't get a book that has ANYTHING about becoming a "Major Motion Picture" or has movie pictures on it. But I think I am safe to read it now, (as long as it doesn't say "Now a major motion picture" on it ;D)

BTW, Jeremy, I know what you mean about hype reading. I went through it with The Bridges of Madison County some 10 years back.
The Da Vinci Code is a terrific read - not a classic, but it has more merit than most over-hyped books. Brown did put a fair amount of work into it, and it shows.

(Did you get a little teary eyed at the end Emma) Gosh, don't remind me. Thankfully, there was a group of sobbing girls a few rows ahead and no one heard me... And, what I think Jeremy means by "hype" reading was that EVERYONE was reading it and EVERYONE was talking about it. You couldn't say the color "brown" without someone saying "Dan Brown?" in the distance somewhere. I must say, that's the reason I didn't read it either. To tell the truth, all the hub of people talking about LOTR got on my nerves a bit when it was everywhere (mostly because all they would discuss was "Leggy"). But now I want to read it before the movie comes along. The trailer really intrigued me and I would like to go to the movie adequately prepared.

(I really like that piano theme that plays when Kong sees Ann in New York and they go to central park)
Well I got into Dan Brown in the book before, Angels and Demons which is the first book about the character Robert Langdon. I actually thought that book would have been a better movie, but from what i understand they are doing that one next.

This is certainly a dream franchise.

I read the Da Vinci Code a few years ago, before all the hype. I picked it up at Rosslyn Chapel which is featured in the book. I think the theme is outstanding, and the pacing is extraordinary. The language is a tad childlike, but you can forgive it in such a fun book. I am expecting a poor film, purely because I want to be pleasantly surprised by it, rather than expecting an awesome movie and end up being disappointed.
Angels and Demons is probably superior to Da Vinci Code, but Deception Point and Digital Fortress don't quite match up to those two. Apparently Brown is currently researching his new Langdon book about Freemasonry in Washington DC.
