Yea Arcturus is the grandfather I think.
Destroying them, I've got no clue. Harry destroyed the diary all he did was stick a fang in it, but when Dumbledore destroyed the ring, it nearly took off his hand! And we never did find out how he destroyed it didn't we. So I think the way to destroy one is different depending on what the object is maybe.

millions dollars says the last HP book the way to destroy the last thing of voldemorts power he'll probably have to sacrifice himself...that's the only way i think might be suiting to end a great series sad yes but if he kills voldemort and he doesn't die than their'd be more books so that's my opinion

If he lives it doesn't mean there will be more books. JKR already wrote the last chapter of 7 before the 6th book was published and it is going to be about everyones life afterwards. The last word is scar. |

There will be no more numbered harry potter books after 7, maybe an encyclopedia, no prequals none. I bet if he lives during the last chapter jkr will say he had many children with ginny.

If Harry kills Voldy then its happily ever after, no? Does the hero HAVE to die? I hope not! And I hope JKR doesn't have murder in her heart...its like when Buffy killed herself, not that I watch Buffy...Anyway, what if Voldmort tried to AK Harry and the SAME thing happened? I doubt it, but that's Harry's only defense: LOVE!

Blaw- You forgot the rest, remember Trelawney's prediction to Harry "You'll live to a ripe old age, have 12 children, and be minister of magic" =)
moderatormatt- That'd be interesting if the same thing Lily did to Harry happens again..like Lupin jumping in front of Harry if an AK curse is coming towards Harry.. Though that's just an example, doensn't have to be Lupin... Maybe Pettigrew? Cause he owes his life to Harry.

Yea that was a special case with lily because she didn't have to die. I don't think it will be the same situation with any other character. No one else is going to have the oppurtunity to choose whether to live or die.
Sorry HJS I don't remember that part, but harry will be an auror ;D
