In the sweet interview between Mugglenet/Leaky Cauldron and Jo, the same question was asked ES: What would Dumbledore's Boggart be? JKR: I can't answer that either, but for theories you should read 6 again. There you go. Maybe Jo's refering to the potion in the cave? Whoa.. "experiances from the 1st order", Matt, that'd make sense too. 'Cause in book 5 I think I remember someone saying how unprepared the Order was then and how they were being picked off like flies...Could be, could be. *reads book 6 again*

Yeah, that would be interesting! Or what he would see if he looked in the Mirror of Erised. Maybe he would be most afraid of seeing Harry die. He's spent alot of time trying to make sure he was protected. And there has to be more to that gleam in his eye, I think that was on the lastest Pottercast, I think.

Haha...I still remember in Book 1, when Harry went to the Mirror of Erised and he asked Dumbledore what he saw and he said a pair of thick woolen socks =)
That's true, it could be refering to Harry, but Dumbledore said, "Don't hurt them!" when he was drinking his potion. Oh and here's a quote of Dumbledore's from when he was drinking the potion.
...That gleam of triumph!! That is...just wow! I'll save what I've got to say about it when Blaw brings it up as a topic.

I think that there is a lot about Dumbledore's life that is going to become very relevant in Book 7. During that interview JKR did with Melissa and Emerson she told them that Dumbledore's family line would be a "profitable line of inquiry." It does also seem like whatever he saw in the Mirror of Erised will come back, maybe he saw the horcruxes and Harry will use it again to find them similarly to how he used it to fine the stone in book 1. I liked moderatormatt's idea that the potion had an effect like a dementor. I'll bet his worst fear would be all of the students being attacked by Death Eaters, like what actually ended up happening.

About the "profitable line of inquiry". I think Jo said something about meeting a new member of the Order that has sort of been in the background. Aberforth Dumbledore anyone? That'd be reallly interesting if DD did see the horcruxes in the mirror. Nice theories Jenny!
Uncle Igmar- Haha, awesome!

Hmm...Aberforth has seemed very distant. Maybe he'll be the one to fess up some answers about Albus. I never imagined him to be in the first Order. Does anyone else remember that picture Harry saw. I can't remember who the first one's were.
There is more to Dumbledore's life than we know...how did he get to become so powerful. That pensieve is very valuable indeed as is the portrait.

I believe this family ties that will come into play mostly have to deal with his brother, Aberforth Dumbledore. Besides the “thing with the goats”, we know he is a member of the order and (through other official lines besides the books) runs the other tavern in Hogsmeade, the Hog’s Head. We know very little about him, but he has been around in the books in a small way for a long time and rather often. I truly think this is the family she talked about becoming important in the last book. He will be able to give Harry something dealing with Albus that will really help or something.
I can also see Harry looking to the portrait of Dumbledore in the headmaster’s office for advice and what not, but he will discover that the portrait is not exactly the same as the real guy was. He will still have to do things on his own merit, but will gain help and knowledge along the way from all sorts of sources... including some from Dumbledore through others, things left behind, and remembering his teachings.

People who were in the 1st Order were...: Moody, Albus Dumbledore, Dedalus Diggle, MarleneMcKinnon, Frank Longbottom, Alice Longbottom, Emmeline Vance, Lupin, Benjy Fenwick, Edgar Bones, Sturgis Podmore, Caradoc Dearborn, Hagrid, Elphias Doge, Gideon Prewett, Fabian Prewett, Aberforth Dumbledore, Dorcas Meadowes, Sirius, James Potter, Lily Potter, and Peter Pettigrew.
Out of that list of 22 people... about 10 people have died so far and 2 of them are incapacitated. So only 10 original members.
I think Jo said in some interview that portraits are sort of like recordings/personalities trapped in a painting. I don't think the the portrait will provide much help... it might help a little though...maybe depending on what the portrait is asked?
..I wonder how much Aberforth and Albus are alike..

The next book has no name, no release date, so basically we know nothing about it. Except that it's the last one.
