It's been way too quiet around these parts lately. What can we do to spice it up? Another Karma Kon? Sure - I'll nominate Michael Kirschner - he was the first to agree to the idea and his karma looks like it could use the boost +15

Bev Exalt to you. I really hope that you get this all resolved with Ashley Furniture. No one should be treated like that by a company. Because there is no reason for them to do so. No one wins in the end. They lose sales from those that hears the story, and your grand-daughter could have been injured, than they would have lost a lot more. And you guys have lost trust in big companies.

+16. Thoughts on the new Star Trek anyone? Jay, CLif and I went last night in IMAX and it was freaking awesome!

Would it be a good movie for someone who hasn't seen any other Star Trek movies?

Yes, because I had never seen one before - it completely reboots the franchise, so you don't need to have seen it before. Jay & Clif got a lot of the little inside jokes from the series or the famous lines, but I found them just as funny and even recognized some of the more famous ones like, "Beam me up, Scotty" haha. Honestly, watching this season's "Lost" will help you understand the movie a lot more than ever having seen a previous ST series.

Cool.
I was interested after seeing the trailers, but wanted to hold off a bit until I found out if there would be any prerequisite viewing of the other movies/shows.

I don't get it either, even if we don't get our money back, they have another complaint filed against them and hopefully people will be smart enough to check them out before they buy from them, I didn't because I had bought some furniture from the a couple of years ago. Live and learn I guess. You're right about about people finding out how they treat people, word of mouth can be a powerful thing and I am sure trying to get the word out where ever I can as I don't want anyone else to go through what we have.

Thank you everyone for the karma points +504 to bev. Its good to hear that you don't need to catch up on Star Trek to understand the latest movie, of course for a show and movie series that has been going since the late 60's wouldn't that be impossible?

+19 to faithful and always happy Michael *and breathe* - I'm back after art exams. GCSEs start this Friday. I can't believe a major stage in my life will be over in less than a month now. WEIRD. (I'm sort of praying Swine Flu gets upgraded to a level 6 - then I don't have to sit exams and get my predicted grades, which were all A*s) Wolverine or Star Trek tonight? HELP.

Sorry I have been away, but been spending most of my "free" time sorting and packing. It's just a little more than a month until I move and it seems to be flying by. Still TONS to go through and pack. I hope to put in another 10 hours tomorrow. Bev, keep giving us updates as they happen and we'll keep sending good luck vibes your way and hoping you get some resolution (and retribution.) I had never heard of Ashley Furniture, but shortly after you told us about them, I saw a commercial for them. I gave them a rude gesture, though since the gesture was directed at the TV, I don't know that they got the message.
