Favorite musicians, and bands
Rock: Led Zeppelin Queens of the Stone Age The Mars Volta Fleet wood Mac Muse Incubus Radiohead
I love all the Jazz greats. Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Charley Parker, Charles Mingus. I like almost any Jazz from the Bee Bop, to Free Form Jazz era.
Love The blues greats, Robert Johnson, Lead Belly, Muddy Waters ect.......
As far as Symphonic..... Chopin, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, and Beethoven. I love the Romantic Period.
Movie Composers: Enio Morricone, Danny Elfman, John Williams (Even though he repeats his work a lot), Howard Shore, James Horner, and Robert Rodriguez deserves an honorable mention.
My guitar Heroes are:
Jimmy Page (I would kill to meet him) David Gilmore Lindsey Buckingham Josh Homme Hub Thompson and many more.
So that kind of scratches the surface of my musical tastes I like almost anything as long as it isn't Modern Country, that music is a disgrace to the evolution of music as an art.

Zeppelin rocks. And I'd definitely add Beatles to that as well.

You like Led Zeppelin? Sweet. I'm like the only one in brussels who thinks Led Zeppelin is cool. The way they can play nearly every genre of music is amazing, and Page playing guitar with a violin bow (and of course the double necked SG) is just too cool for words. What's your favorite Zep song? I would go with either When the Levee Breaks or No Quarter.
Speaking of meeting Page, I know Robert Plant's cousin. I should get you two together.

I am a huge Led Zeppelin fan as well. My favorite song of theirs is probably In My Time of Dying. They have too many good songs to choose just one favorite song. I think Physical Graffitti is their best album, though 1-4 & HotH are also all great imo. The last 2 just don't live up to the others. As far as I'm concerned Page is THE guitar god if there is one. Playing with a bow is so crazy its genius!

Jimmy Page has had the biggest influence on me as a guitarist, and a producer.
I can play with a violin bow on my les paul, and I own a double neck S.G. The thing is so heavy though I rarely used it on stage.
My fav Zep album would have to be III and IV is close behind it. Favorite song would be "Friends" I really like Page's use of alternate tunings.

The way Page handles absolutely anything when he writes and performs songs just blows me away. Compare the Battle of Evermore and Dazed and Confused (love the wah-wah!). Its ridiculous. Dude, you have a les paul and an SG? Man, all I have is a crappy acoustic that makes wierd buzzing sounds. I have to steal my friend's Parker to do anything really sweet.
Quick music question...any tips on how to tap on an acoustic fingerboard? When I try I just get a loud klinking noise.

Well tapping on the acoustic guitar isnt as effective as an electric, but you can still do it.
Have the lowest action you can, and use the lightest strings that you can, and you should be able to tap on the acoustic effectively. Tuning down a step or two helps as well.

what kind of gadgets do you like to use when you play, i realy like my brothers e-bow, it realy gets that creepy new-age ghosty sound that i think is realy great when used properly. i also like those glass-tubey things that you put on your index finger - the name now exapes me - but my fingrers cry for hours after using one for 10 minets - my week little girly artest hands, ha! -.

Thanks Jay, you're truly a star. I can now play "Thunderstruck" without fear.

Ah thunderstuck, that isn't really taping. Its pull offs, and hammer ons. Which is essentially tapping but you do it with one hand. Thats one of Angus Youngs specialties.
Eddie Van Halen got the idea of taping when he saw Jimmy Page play the solo to "Heartbreaker" which had the type of Hammer ons, and pull offs that Angus employs.
