And also, can MIB time-travel? I got the impression that when he directed Locke to the donkey wheel (the 2nd time), it was some time in the "past"... well before Christian Shepherd had died

I thought he wanted him to bring the candidates back so he could "kill them." Turning the wheel was just a means to do that.
