Alot of people are talking about how the ending was irrevelant to the first 5 seasons: guess what, it wasn't. Since the beginning of the show the producers have always said that it is a character driven show. The characters are the pieces that hold the story together. Their change over the course of this great show is the story of Lost. Their growth from lost souls to strong people has become the staple of the show's success. The ending was about the growth of the characters and how the island had altered their lives. The bigger picture of the show is of the characters faith and not the mythology of why.

That's the stance of everybody who really enjoyed the episode, including myself.
I have ideas on all the mysteries, but in the bigger picture I just didn't want everything "midichlorian-ed"... if you know what I mean.
