Take the cork out. Put it back in. We're all dead. The End.
What a crock of nuts.
The whole of season 6 was a waste of time.

Just a couple of questions... Why would it have been so bad to let Smokey off the island? Who was David? Ok so if you accept the losties have created the space for themselves to meet in the afterworld, who are all the 'others' in this world? What was the purpose of Flashing to the 70's in Series 5 except to fill some time?(ho-ho) why did mib become smokey, when the others down the hole just died and rotted away? Why did some of the Losties flash from the Ajira?

I dont know what you guys expected I mean it was clear, and mentioned like a thousand times everywhere, that there won't be all questions answered! I, for myself, thought it was great and touching, of course confusing aswell but still really epic.

What is wrong with you, man? How could you not love it? Why do you care so much about those answers? Personally, I would love answers to the first two, but I don't care if I ever get them.
If you wanted a finale full of answers, of course you were going to hate it. That isn't what the show is about and we were explicitly told that there would be a lot of unanswered questions numerous times.

I did wonder where David came into play once the ending was revealed. He played such a prominent role in the flash sideways, but then the whole thing was like a "matrix"-style loading dock for the afterlife, so that was confusing. I still don't think that any questions they left out there take away from the show. We all have been preparing for month, and years, to have loose ends after the show ended, so just let the finale marinate, reflect back on how it affects all of the characters' stories and just enjoy it! "Just let go" :-D

Christian said that this is a place that they created. So, as of now, the best theory I have for David's existence is that Jack subconsciously created him, so he could experience what it's like to be a father and he could avoid all of the mistakes his father made as a parent.
That said, I take Christian's line that "everything really happened" to be literal, even considering the flashsideways. I think after Jack died in real life, he was reborn in the afterlife, and went on living for another ~40 years until he met up with all of the people that mattered to him in his real life. So David wasn't simply a fictitious manifestation, but rather someone that Jack subconsciously willed into his "ideal" life.

Ok, I've rewatched this tonight and I must confess I really enjoyed it when I knew what to expect. I had still been holding out hope for some explanation somewhere in the finale of how MIB manipulated Richard, Ben and Locke using the cabin to get to the point where he could kill his brother and also so e explanation of why Jacob went round touching people and for flip sake what happened after they detonated the bomb and exactly what Juliet meant when she said 'it worked', an expmanation of the rules governing Widmore and Ben, what happened to Sayid & Zben after they went to the Temple - all big picture fundamental questions, I could go on, however... Was it good entertainment? Yes. Did I blub my eyes out? Yes. Will I be able to work out some of these answers myself? Possibly. I'm still not sure how I feel overall, I do still feel let down to some extent but it was great. So Long and Thanks for all the fish.

I mentioned this in another post on this board: when Juliet said, "it worked," she was simply referring to turning off the vending machine.
I was kind of disappointed, as well, with not knowing exactly what happened with Ben/Sayid in the temple, but I knew if we didn't get this answer about a month ago that we wouldn't be getting it in the show.

The creators had always said the final season would be about the characters.
I get it that people want answers, but would you really have been happy if someone sat there for 30 mins just telling us answers to minutea(I admint, there are biggies as well)?
I think we will get our answers from the extra material in the dvds and from the encyclopedia.
For me I know I would not have been happy if they just spent a lot of time telling us stuff that when you look back at the series as a whole, just weren't important to our beloved characters.
I know one of the authors of the encyclopedia personally and I know her to be a person who will give the lost community what we deserve.
I think time will tell but I think after August 24th, people who were disappointed, will look back and be happy the creators gave us the ending they gave us.

I think something that showed clearly how and why MIB had been manipulating the Losties since back in Season 4 from when he took Claire and told Locke to move the Donkey Wheel wouldn't have been unreasonable, not in a James Bond baddie ' here is my plan' style, but the is a lot to work out here! Anyone have a whiteboard?
