Just a heads up, I'm only in eighth grade, so this theory may turn out messed up. In algebra, we're learning about quadratic equations (There's one tie in. Faraday's always talking about equations and variables). When we graph them, they turn into what is called a parabola. The solution/s to a quadratic equation is where the parabola hits the x-axis. Depending on the location of the parabola, it differentiates whether the equation has one or two solutions. Enough of the math lesson. What if the island is like a quadratic equation? The variable that was changed was the detonation of the hydrogen bomb. This caused the equation to have two solutions. X= the island life or X=the alternate timeline. Both are solutions. I think what is going to end up happening is that something (another variable {my guess is the island sinking)) is going to cause the equation to only have one timeline or one solution. My guess is the Alternate timeline. I don't know, just a random thought that hit me in Algebra ;D. Opinions are welcome!
