Ok, totally spoiler free on these. Some are fairly simple and obvious...
1. I loved what one person wrote on the podcast - that the plan on the island to get rid of MIB will fail and that what is happening in the sideways is Desmond acting as the failsafe to fix the situation.
2. Still thinking that the whole sideways is the happily ever after, but I think there will be a point where everyone remembers what happens on the island and the sideways world become synced.
3. The cuts on Jack's neck. He gets killed in the finale, probably cut like Zeo. The cuts we are seeing are sideway's premonitions of this.
4. Desmond is absolutely seeing the future to predict what is happening. My pet theory is that "becoming like Jacob" is more than just long life. It is also gaining the ability to see into the future and how all the various possible futures can happen. The whole weaving a tapestry is a classic symbol of this. Jack now has this ability.
5. Yeah - Juliet is Jack's ex. I predict a post-sync last few moments at the very end, when the sideways people all have their full memories (ala Hurley), that we'll see the potential romantic set ups. Juliet and Sawyer, Jack and Kate, Hurley and Libby, Des and Penny, etc.
6. There will be a bittersweet ending - it might be that Jack ends up dying on island and the island being destroyed, correcting the dual time lines. I'd have to think it cannot all be a happy ending for everyone. My bet is somehow on Ben doing the ultimate sacrafice to save everyone else...
7. Ashes - I think the ashes are pretty significant. I think that ashes are a part of how a soul can combine itself together to take on a corporeal form. Smokey is the ultimate expression of this. I mean what is black smoke shooting around if not a bunch of ash particles. It is the corporeal form of MIB, as well as of all those whose soul Smokey can scan. If MIB can see dead people, ex. his mother, then maybe that ability followed him in his conversion to Smokey. The other interesting part of this is that potentially this explains why Jacob can be seen. He literally is the ashes reanimated. In fact if you look at what happens prior to Jacobs death we generally see him stuck in or near the foot, with a fire always going... What if Jacob was dead prior to this and the reason he stayed near the foot was because he had to to remain something more than a non-soul.
