so.. answers:
- The Candidates were chosen because they were losers and loaners. awesome. I assume that they got to prove themselves on the island as good people. - Kate was crossed off because she became a mother. Yet Kwon was still on the list? OK, its just chalk on a wall, i guess. - Jack is now a Protector. (Anyone else gonna drink from that Magic River?) - More (supposed) deaths: Richard, Zoe, Widmore.. are they really dead? - Jacob can show himself as a child and adult and is now magically seen by everyone. (Is this because he got his ashes back? Can ashes really be burned even further to completely destroy Jacob?) - Des escaped. I guess we're led to believe the Jack Pack got to him while Hurley was talking to Jacob. (So where did he go if he didn't return with them to Jacob?)
Anything else revealed?
Questions: - Will Sideways Jack's wife finally be revealed at the Concert? .. and it seems everyone will meet together here in the finale. Will they all have to play The Beach Boys to get back to Lost Island? - When will sideways Jack fix Locke? seems too late to squeeze this in, so we were probably only shown this to say that Locke is ready.

- The Candidates were chosen because they were losers and loaners. awesome. I assume that they got to prove themselves on the island as good people. Would you rather the candidates be those with great lives and loved ones and be forced to give all that up? It makes more sense to choose those looking for a new beginning and a chance to start over. Or did I wrongly sense the sarcasm there? In which case, whoops! - Kate was crossed off because she became a mother. Yet Kwon was still on the list? OK, its just chalk on a wall, i guess. But Jin could have been the candidate. And Jin was already separated from Ji Yeon by 30 years and being stuck on a mystical Island, so...it could make sense for Kwon not to be crossed off. Can ashes really be burned even further to completely destroy Jacob? Yeah, that was...weird. I don't get how you burn ashes. - Des escaped. I guess we're led to believe the Jack Pack got to him while Hurley was talking to Jacob. (So where did he go if he didn't return with them to Jacob?) Maybe it was Miles who found him. Or the Others that scattered into the trees.

Okay, maybe it was some residual emotional wreckage left over from Jin/Sun, but was I the only one that found himself getting just a wee bit teary eyed (like Jack in the earlier part this season, not full on crying) during the Sideways flash Ben/Rouessou/Alex Seen
"Your the closest thing shes ever had to a father"
Ben has been my second favorite character after Desmond.
And a little more when we get the big revelation as to why Kate isn't a candidate any more, its not some mystical magical thing, she became a mom...awwww....(Hey Sun and Jin became parents WTF!)
But my theory for how its all going to end is with BEN being the one who will Kill MiB, kind of fitting, both brothers falling to the same man. And Side-Juliet is going to be davids mother. (I always thought he was too light skinned for it to be Ana-Lucia)

I couldn't believe Richard's death... it was so... poof gone bye bye 0.0
and Zoey... mmm... why was she useless? I still don't get the whole not lettin whoever talk thing...
I was more than a little bit shocked by Widmore's demise. And not at all surprised about Ben's actions...but... mmm.. first Locke promises Ben he can have the island and in the end he says he's going to destroy it?
aaand Kate had to take a bullet to get interesting again xD I liked how she was so defensive of Sun and Jin and Sayid.
did anyone else get a bad feeling from the camera focusing on James's face after Jack drank from the cup? Like he was really jealous or something... is Sawyer gonna be the new Mib? I don't like that vibe - I don't want Sawyer to be a "villain" in the end.

My favorite line from this episode "It's just a line of chalk in a cave."
Yeah Richard's death disappointed me a bit, as well as Widmore's... Is their story really complete??

I'm just glad my crackpot theory is still alive...that Sawyer could still be on team MIB. He also gave a strange look when Jack mentioned about going to rescue Desmond.

Ashes - Interesting - remember we always saw him in the foot with his fire going as well. Maybe the only way people can see him when dead is when his ashes are burning. Maybe he was dead prior to Ben "killing" him. This might explain why he was bound to the foot and never really left it.
Also, wonder how this ties to teh ashes being a barrier for Smokey.
I hope they explain the cabin as well.
FInally, at the end of the Ben/Danielle scene. It looked like Ben was either about to kiss Danielle or go "do I know you from somewhere???"

FInally, at the end of the Ben/Danielle scene. It looked like Ben was either about to kiss Danielle or go "do I know you from somewhere???" I imagined it was just shock from Ben hearing "Next time..." He was like "Wait, next time?" But if Danielle ever remembers, uh...talk about awkward.

I don't think Richard is necessarily dead.. just knocked out again. We will see just how tough Richard's "immortality" is.
Zoe is useless because MIB just needs info if she won't spill it, she's just in his way. and as he said before since she's against him she's a liability to leave alive.

Zoe dying was a highlight of the episode~
I don't think Richard could go out like that. And somehow it makes me more hopeful for Frank, too.... I may just be in major denial though, haha.

I just had another thought.....when they called and told Jack they had found his father's coffin (which really was Des on the phone; I'm thinking when it's opened-if it is-Christain will NOT be in it ... it will be Jacob or 'brother' or maybe even Richard !....what a twist at the end THAT would be!!!! )
