Since season 3 Gin and Sun have been my favorite couple on Lost and my opinion are the greatest love story on the island. I am very disappointed that they died to say the least. Although, they were in love and they never wanted to be apart again which was very romantic I felt like Sun would make Gin get out because they have a baby and he would need to get back to their daughter. Don't you think the love for your child would come before dieing with the one you love? Just a thought.
PS. This kinda makes me want everyone one the island die now, and have the life off the island be the ones that the show ends with.

I honestly don't think Jin would have been able to make it out anyway. I know it all happened quickly, but Hurley and Jack both had oxygen tanks that they took with them to swim out...remember Jack tried to leave one for Jin but Jin told Jack that Jack would need it. I think they were too far down to make it out and up to the surface without oxygen tanks. And, Jin had no way of knowing that he could even make it off the island to ever be with his daughter. Even if he did, he would spend the rest of his life feeling awful having left his wife to die alone.
It was horribly sad to see them die, however we've seen other deaths on the show and it is a fact of life...everyone is going to die. Lost is definitely not a show to give us a fairy tale ending and I would be disappointed if they did that. It's real and gritty and is about a good story, not just what we think we want to have happen.
I do agree with you that they were hands-down the best couple on Lost. During the first half of the episode I was thinking about how much I loved them and they definitely had the best love story...I should have known that something bad was going to happen to them since shows always seem to do that. They kind of did the same with Sayid...I was so happy to see him out of the daze he'd been in and back to being himself and then BAM! He's gone!
Lost rocks! It makes us think, it makes us laugh and it definitely knows how to make us cry.
