Frank Theory

Hey all, finally got to watch "the last recruit" as Australia is one week behind. My big question is why is Frank with all the original Losties?

My theory is........

I think he has a huge part to play coming up. Why?

1. He was meant to fly the first plane but slept in. The first time we see the smoke monster it goes straight for the pilot (was this because it thought it was Frank?)

2. I think it was Illana who mentioned something earlier about "he might be a candidate"

3. Have we seen Frank in the sideways timeline? Considering they are trying to bring back everyone for this you would think that Frank would appear at some stage.

Is it possible that neither Jacob or MIB knew that Frank didn't pilot the first plane and therefore both think that Frank was killed by the smoke monster.

Could he be a candidate?

Could he be the candidate that takes over from Jacob and therefore not appear in the sideways timeline?

A long shot I know.

Very good! I've been thinking Frank HAS to have some significance since he's just been trotting around in the background for a while, they wouldn't just add him just to add him (see: nicki and paulo). All your points make good sense, now just to see what he is going to do.

I can't see him being a Candidate because his name was written down anywhere, but I think he will be important. Even if it's just because MIL needs a pilot to fly Ajira off the Island.
