So here are a couple of theories that came to mind after watching "The Last Recruit". I actually called them in to the show, but I thought I'd post them here, too...
It seems to me that both Claire and Sayid might be coming back from the dark side, Anakin-style. This got me to thinking. What if the psychic who told Claire that it was important that SHE raise Aaron -- that something terrible would happen if she didn't -- what if the psychic told her that NOT because Aaron is important, but because this idea of raising Aaron is what will ultimately bring her back to the good side? In other words, perhaps the psychic had a vision of Claire being claimed and knew that it would be this motivation of getting back to Aaron so that she could raise him that would ultimately turn her against Locke.
The other theory that came to mind has to do with Sayid. I've been trying to figure out why on earth Jacob would instruct the Losties to take Sayid to the contaminated pool in the Temple if he knew that would result in Sayid being claimed by the MIB. After last night's episode, I think I'm beginning to understand why. When Ben was saved from death in the Temple pool, I think it consecrated him to Jacob, and I think this is why he was able to kill Jacob. In the same way, when Sayid was brought back from death in the contaminated pool, he was consecrated to the MIB, which would make him the only one who is able to kill the MIB. So with Sayid likely having betrayed the MIB by sparing Desmond's life, I think we have the stage set for Sayid (possibly with the help of Claire) to be the one who ultimately kills the MIB.
So that's just my theory connecting a mystery from the beginning of the season to where I think the show might be going. Let me know what you guys think.

Of course a big flaw here about the Sayid thing is that Sayid already tried and failed to kill Flocke. But this might simply be because he wasn't yet fully "claimed" when Dogen sent him to do the job. Perhaps Dogen wasn't sending him into a trap at all, but merely jumped the gun.
