Did anyone else notice how frightened Jack became as he stared at Locke? At first he was just looking curiously at him, then they cut away and when they cut back, Jack looked terrified. Why would that be?

I assumed it to be your general look of "Oh my god, this guy was dead and now there he is. But it's not him. It's some freaky evil thing that could kill us at any given moment."
Given Locke's suicide note to Jack, Jack probably feels responsible for what's happened with Locke too.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the suicide note! What did it say, "I wish you would have believed" or something?

You're probably right. I just found it interesting that Jack initially just looked at him with curiousity, but then it changed to horror. Probably in the script that way: "Zen-Jack looks at Flocke first with curiosity, then with growing fear and horror. He loses his Zen-like calm and his beard starts to grow back".

Yeah, "I wish you had believed me."
It makes it sound like Jack was who made Locke suicidal. I bit dramatic for Locke, I'd say, but yeah.

Did MiB always know that it was Locke that he was going to possess? If Locke had to die off the Island to bring people back to the Island, did Smokie know all along that he was going to get all up in John's body? But Ilanna brought Locke's body back, and she works/worked for Jacob, so I doubt he intended it before hand. He just picked Locke's body because it was available at the right time. But why would Ilanna bring his body back just to have her enemy possess it? Hmmmm...

Oh and Ilana and that other dude were rolling around in that black van with the "Reincarnation" jumble on the side... so they must have known in some form right? that life was going to be breathed back into this body...

Ilana didn't have anything to do with bringing Locke back. That was Eloise and Ben. Ben was driving the reincarnation van. Bram was in another vehicle.
MIL had Richard tell Locke from the past that he had to die to get everyone to come back. So MIB knew he would use Locke via a convenient time loop.
