we all know that Hurley was in a mental institution. i also beleve that Locke was in a mental institution so that helen was his theraphist becuse she asks lots of questions. and he freeks out about him just being a patitent. and every time hes told he cant tell him he cant do something.

Yes, there is a mental health theme playing throughout Lost.
Hurley, Connect-4 Mental Institute guy, Danielle, Danielle's people who got "sick" and went crazy enough for her to feel like she had to shoot them.
Alcoholism with Jack Shephard's dad, possibly Jack, ?Ana Lucia, Wayne.
Locke and his anger and obsessive issues that probably led to his paralysis in some tragic way.
The definitely crazy seabilly boat people.

I don't think Jack is an alcoholic because when he meets AnnaLucia in the airport bar, it's like he isn't used to the strong tasting alcohol. She says something like, 'Not much of a drinker, huh?'

oh ya Ana had to do some sort of rehabilitation to get back on the force right then took it out on that poor mans TV

On the airplane though, Jack complained that the drink was too weak. I could see him following in the same footsteps as his father. (See the Jack's and His Wife thread)
