I think the big reveal tonight 4/6, might be that Widmore is working for Jacob. Here's how it might be:The big mistake Widmore accused Ben of in "Dead is Dead" was that he was unknowingly listening to the wrong side, i.e whoever was living in the cabin. When Ben first visits the cabin with Locke, it appears now that it was MIB, not Jacob who was living there, yet Ben said "That's Jacob." We know from the Season 5 finale Ben never really talked to Jacob. Finally, in Season 5 there was a war going on off-island between Ben and Widmore. What was that all about? Why was Ilana injured in a Russian hospital? Anything to do with being part of the group led by Sayid's hit? Is the reason Widmore couldn't use the Lamp Post because he is on the other side of Eloise who was unknowling, like Ben, being used by MIB? Remember it was Eloise who said Locke had to go back in the coffin as a dead man.
I know Widmore has always been regarded as a bad guy, but a lot of that information came from Ben. Perhaps he tried to keep Penny away from Desmond because he know Desmond was connected to the island. I also think he talked Desmond into coming back in order to somehow save the Lostees from being destroyed by MIB; it will have something to do with time I am sure.
