Apocalypse Island

I was watching this show on the History Channel last night. It was about a remote Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean that somehow seems to be related to the Mayan's calendar prediction for armageddon on December 21, 2012. I missed the first half of it, but there was one part that jumped out at me...

They mentioned something called the Smoke Serpent. The means in which they supposedly created the serpent are rather strange, involving male genitalia, but the idea was to send this smoke serpent up in the air as a way of communicating with their dead ancestors. Sounds a bit like the connection we see with dead people on the island and the smoke monster.

There was also a reference to the island being evil somehow. I will have to watch it again, because I was falling asleep until the Smoke Monster thing perked me up.

Has anyone else seen this?

Yeah I wanna watch this, I'm intrigued, and the Mayan 2012 thing kind of reminds me of the numbers being key factors in an equation to predict the end of the world.

The show was called Apocalypse Island. I think it originally aired in January, but the played it a few times the other night. I feel like there are more things other than the smoke "serpent" that seem to tie into lost. We were getting more mayan references this season with the temple. The main focus on this show was that they think that this island's location lines up with the moon, sun, and venus, or whatever they used to create the calendar.

Yes, I think there has to be more to the numbers than just our character assignments. We've seen the numbers in so many places in the past, so what leads us to believe that the ultimate meaning of them is for Jack, Sawyer, etc?
