Wowzas! It's been awhile since I've posted anything. I was just reading through all the different theories, thoughts, and whatnot, and I now I have a "question/theory.' Alright, so a lot of people are thinking MIB was the thing trapped inside Jacob's cabin. How is that possible? Sure, we don't know who's been in and out of the cabin, but if MIB was locked inside the cabin, how could he come to others as Smokey? I mean, sure he could've appeared to Eko and Locke and then got trapped inside the cabin, but I think it's a little far fetched that MIB was in the cabin. Here's where my theory part of this post kicks in. I think that there's some "third entity" on the Island. Now I now this has been said before, but bear with me. All this time, many people think that LOST is a struggle of Good vs. Evil or Free Will vs. blahhhhh. Anyways, what if it's not what we think. I mean LOST has been known to throw curve balls. What if this whole thing is as follows: Jacob is in control of the island. He's clearly not human. Jacob has an adversary who maybe at first was human and then was given smoke-like abilities. Maybe at first their whole little thing was Good vs. Evil or whatever, but then hen Jacob kept bringing people and MIB was just getting sick of staying on this Island and watching people die. All he wants to do is get off the island and he'll do anything to get off. Meanwhile, there's this other entity. He wants the bickering between to stop between MIB and Jacob. He was the entity inside the cabin. He needed someone to help him to get out. He got in the cabin because he was the true adversary of Jacob and MIB. MIB and Jacob locked him in the cabin so that he couldn't interfere with them. Now I just feel like I'm rambling so I'll stop . Tell me whatcha think! It's very loose ended but whatever!

Possibly. The only reason I have to disagree is that it's too late in the game to introduce another player and tie it all up and have it make any sense without ruining the story unless it's someone we already know (Ben or Richard Maybe? Widmore?)
You bring up something that I never thought of before. It is conceivable that MiB was stuck in the cabin, because, at the time, we all thought it looked like Locke, and Locke was the only one that heard him; and now MiB inhabits Locke's form. Question is: Was he stuck in the cabin, or stuck in a time loop? And more importantly--how?

I agree with the "too late in the game" concern.
Also, I see it more that MIB's physical body was trapped in the cabin (kind of like a ghost of the "humanity" he lost). That excludes his "essence" or whathaveyou, that still was able to move about freely. He asked Locke for help, because he wanted his body.

Whatever Christian Shepherd is, will play a big role in the finale/wrapping up of lost. We know Christian isnt MIL because claire stated that she was with Her friend and Dad, and so MIL at that point couldnt appear as Christian because he was stuck as Locke... So the undead entity that Christian is, is going to play a huge role in finishing this series.

Could be, but I don't think she actually said she was with them at the same time; I think she was telling Jin how she knew the Others took Aaron (which they didn't) and said that first her dad told her, and then her "friend" told her. So in those cases on the main island, I believe Christian was MIL. However, when Christian appeared to Jack off-island, and Michael on the freighter, I believe that was someone else, perhaps Jacob, perhaps just Christian himself.

The above just made me realize what a creepy hour it would be if they show Claire's back story. Her baby disappears, her father shows up and tells her the Others have her, Smokey chasing her then revealing himself, captured by the Others, tortured, escaping, living more and more like an animal, snuggling up with skele-baby and sobbing herself to sleep...

Might be a bit similar to The Hills Have Eyes.
