automated distress call

When Danielle described their "arrival" on the island, she said that they heard a signal and headed towards it. (I'm pretty sure that they heard the numbers being broadcast over and over I may be off on this a bit...)

The guy from Hurley's mental institution (source of the lottery numbers) and I believe the women (Sam Toomey's wife) in the middle of Australia said that the two men were at a listening station and continually heard those numbers being broadcast.

Later Danielle said that after her colleagues were dead (which was by her hand... a minor point..) she went to the source of the signal and replaced the numbers with her distress call.

So, Danielle was the person who stopped the repetitive broadcast of the numbers and replaced it with her distress call.

Maybe if they replace Danielle's distress call with the numbers (or the original message) they won't have to enter them into the computer manually every 108 minutes?

Interesting, but I don't think that there is a connection. They have been entering the code since 1980 or so (date of the orentation video), however, I don't believe that Dharma was around much before that, (maybe the 70s) However, I would presume that the numbers were being broadcast long before that.

I don't know though...My brain is turning to mush thinking about all these theories...we need NEW EPISODES.


I think it should be considered cruel and unusual punishment to make us go so long without a new show after the creators made it so addicting...

I'd like to see that place where the transmitter is. I guess Sayid, et. al. must have decided if no one came after 16 years of broadcasting, why bother. Still, Hurley knows that the crazy guy and Toomey heard the numbers. Maybe he should push for them to change the transmission again.
