Just a quick little theory.
I think most people after the finale wondered why the nuclear bomb didn't explode when Jack dropped it, when it was rigged to explode on impact, but Juliet could make it explode by hitting it with a rock.
It just hit me today why that was: because Jack dropped it.
Jack can't kill himself, he was touched by Jacob. Therefore, just like the dynamite couldn't go off with Jack in the room, because he lit it, the nuke couldn't detonate because Jack dropped it. If it had exploded at that time, there wouldn't have been the energy negating it quite yet, and it would have killed them all. Remember, the chaos only started happening AFTER the drill hit the pocket, which was AFTER he dropped the nuke.
Anyways, I thought this was kinda cool, because it shows they really thought about it, and it makes sense now!

Excellent thought - but weirdly the nuke did not kill anyone
Well maybe Juliet, but is possible she eventually died from the injuries due to her fall

That's because, it was after the energy was released that it exploded, so the energies counteracted each other creating the split. Or something like that

Actually - it had noting to do with Jack not being able to kill himself at all - if you look really, really close - there is a huge rubber cushion at the bottom of the shaft that the bomb landed on - you can probably see it on the Blue Ray version.

I'm guessing that's why Michael couldn't either...touched by Jacob? Gun jammed, car crash didn't kill him. And remember, he only died after Christian showed up and said "you can go now Michael".

We must remember we are talking LOST and not real science. An H-Bomb will explode on impact with ocean water or rubber or just about anything if it is in free fall as far as it fell.
Also realistically electro magnetism would not counter act radiation.
But this is LOST so we are not bound to real science.

Uncle Igmar
I have a great quote for season 6
"This is the worst funeral I ever been to" Frank Lapidis
I am trying to figure out a way to work this into my conversations.

Sorry for triple messaging
So part of the gift from Jacob prevents you from committing suicide yet those who get this gift seem to want to die.
There was a Twilight Zone about a hypochondriac who made a deal with the devil that he would live forever. He then attempts suicides to test the gift. He does not die. In one attempt His wife tries to stop him from jumping off the roof but somehow she falls off and she dies. He thinks this is great so he can test the electric chair he pleads guilty to her murder. Of course it is the Twilight Zone so he gets life in prison - got to love the Twilight Zone.

"Weirdest d**n funeral I've ever been to..." is what Frank says. You could just modify one post instead of posting three times in a row...
