i wish people would stop calling it "flash sideways" and bellyaching and saying it`s pointless. i`ve heard this on a podcast or two from people who should have, by now, come to trust the writers.
if anything would be pointless, it would be spending all this time telling us stuff that DIDN`T happen.
so obviously, we are seeing the denoument before the climax of the series. this IS what happens to these people and the effects of what is to come before we see the cause of it.
darlton can give us a big exciting brain-punching climax without the usual need to follow up because it`s already done.
the interesting thing is that it will only end once; all the rest of this is just progress

I like the sideways..es.... They make me happy to see the characters happy. Well, except Sayid.... I wish things were a little bit better for him, but I understand he makes his own choices!
I'm rambling now, but yeah.... If people have watched the show this long, it's stupid to complain now about the direction.
Remember the first few episodes of season 3! Then remember how season 3 ended!

I believe that Damon and Carlton first used that phrase on on of the Official podcasts. Nevertheless it is sort of wierd. What really bugs me in all the podcasts is the bazillion different nicknames for Locke's current incarnation. I mean, if Ben, who knows about as much about the smoke monster as the writers do (tee hee tee hee) calls him Locke, that is good enough for me. It is not as though the orginal Locke were up and about and there were two of them. That would call for a distinction.
I am really enjoying the "sideways' flashes. I just wish they answered more questions instead of posing new ones.
