Brands....

Juliet and Claire both have been branded. When Sayid had that hot poker put on his chest, I thought at first it was just part of the "test"....but, when I look back at the shape of the triangular tip of the metal piece, it's long and shaped like the background of Claire's brand. So, maybe Dogen was branding Sayid...I don't think we've seen his bare chest since they let him up from the table because I remember that I wanted to see if the wound closed back up after it opened while he was on the table, but they never showed it again.

Claire's Brand - I can't find a clear screencap of hers, but in the middle of the long mark, you can see a half circle crescent moon, tips pointing upward on a pedestal. The image is turned on it's side

Just wondering if branding is something that we're going to see more of and if anyone knows what either of the two brands mean

I think Claire's branding is EXACTLY like Sayid's branding. They were both tested after becoming "infected." I don't their branding is any sort of design, though. Just looks like a hot poker to me. The burning being more a way to test the skin and how the body reacts to the pain.

I don't think Juliet's branding is the same. She was branded for having killed one of her own. They wanted to kill her, but Ben let her live. Hers was definitely a design. Also, because it happened in Stranger in a Strange Land, I think we're all just expected to forget Juliet's branding ever happened, along with the rest of that episode....

Yeah, Both of their branding's are the same. Dogen just got a hot fire poker and placed it anywhere. I have no clue what they are expecting....Who is not gonna yell or scream in pain after getting burned to hell.

If Sayid did not pass the test does that mean he can see the real MIB or infected Claire? So far he seems pretty normal, but could be playing along to get answers or can't do anything because he is stuck in the temple.

Well the infection spreads to the heart, right? So maybe Sayid is normal now, but won't be in time.

Then again, Claire doesn't seem that abnormally crazy given her circumstances. She seemed far weirder back in the cabin with Christian in season 4.

I agree--Claire seemed pretty together, but for the bassinet business, all things considered...
