Okay, not sure if anyone else noticed or has commented already... but what was up with cry baby Sayid? Sure he's weak from coming back to life but under Degon's quick torture method's he was pretty pathetic. I mean, at least for someone who has been torturing people for a living and who HAS BEEN tortured himself a number of times already on the show.
If you look back to when the French woman tortured him I believe I recall he handled it much better and for a lot longer of a period.
Degon puts him under a few minutes of similar torture and he's shaking and screaming and yelling (I don't know any secrets!!) even though Degon never asked him a thing.
With all this talk of the torture being a test, my money's on that they were "testing" to see if Sayid was still his old, "tough/badass" self who could hang under few minutes of light torture or if he was...well someone else now.
