I'm getting the feeling that I can see where this show is headed and it's just not for me. The beginning of the finale was good but when it started to turn into a steven-king-style good/bad story, I began to lose interest. Jacob seemed so much like king's character in about every one of his stories[can you tell i'm not a fan?--sorry to those who are] it just became too repeatative . The losties story almost seems like an ad-on, not the core like it was. The love tri-quad angle feels forced; just a side-show. I've bought all 4 seasons DVD so far and will get this one too[mostly because of Faraday]; but i'm not really feeling too excited about #6. unless, of course it does a turnaround back to the science (or even sci-fi) element. I'm sure there's a lot of you who don't agree with me about this, but my heart's just not into it anymore. Plus there are so many loose ends I can't see how it will be connected in the final finale. I REALLY hope I'm wrong about it all...guess TIME WILL TELL

To each his own...
But I think you should hold your worries, because you don't REALLY know what they'll do.

I say if you've made it this far why give up now? You only have 17 more hours to go.

yeah, hang in there. I see what you're saying, but you've invested so much already. Plus, the show has taken some MAJOR turns so far, so whose to say you won't love the final turn or two in the end?

I can't imagine investing so much time in a show just to give up now. I'd at least stay through to the end to KNOW I don't like it. But that's just me, I guess....
And it's not like Darlton being fans of Stephen King has exactly been kept a secret. We've known all along.

Yeah I think we are all kinda going through that right now since the LAST season is coming. After the finale last week, on Jimmy Kimmel, Matthew Fox said on the final images of the show "we will be VERY satisfied and it will end in the coolest of ways" I am gonna hold you to that Foxy ha ha ha I HOPE they pull out something AWESOME for comic con...canon or not, we will get something that will shine a light on the new season. That should help with some of you out there that are a little hesitant. The good news however is that I expect the numbers to bounce up next season with the addition of all those people that want ANSWERS. It's gonna be BIG.

Honestly I was a bit worried too. But for the most part I have a lot of faith in the creators. And since I saw Star Trek, it really solidified my faith in the creators. Since it is a lot of the same people. They took a classic much loved sacred piece of culture and really brought it into the new century but really respecting the old series. I have faith.

WE CANNOT LOSE FAITH OR...wait...faith might lead to getting tricked into dying and having our body/soul taken over by some freakish dude in a black shirt.
Hmmmmm....

Hello folks, This will be my first post on the forum after lurking about for a while. I came to check and see if anyone else had become somewhat disillusioned with the direction that LOST has taken. This particular thread title grabbed my attention because it shared my sentiments. I really feel as though "Darlton" has pulled a fast one on the many watchers who believed their assurance that the show would be grounded in real science (or at least quasi-science).
I know, I know... this show has ALWAYS, FROM THE BEGINNING had sci-fi elements. But what made it so intriguing the first few seasons was that we were challenged to figure them out thinking that there was some real science to back it up.
Now we know that it is magic after all. We know that there are two God-like creatures/men who are capable of anything that the mind of a writer can imagine. I feel like someone pulled a fast one.
Before anyone becomes agitated, I want you to know that LOST is my favorite show on tv. It was on its way to be my favorite of all time but that momentum has slowed dramatically this past season.
I will continue to watch of course, but like faradaystie, my expectations have been lowered.

We know that there are two God-like creatures/men who are capable of anything that the mind of a writer can imagine. Not necessarily. "Rules" have been mentioned so many times. These god-like beings, whoever they are, we know are not capable of anything and everything. They at least have restrictions. What they are, we just have yet to find out.

LOST is the greatest show on the planet, my opinion and I beleive it will never be topped, name one other show in the history of Television to have this level of mystery and aspect of reality and draws out emotions like this show does in one self, no other show has done what LOST Has done. And no spin off or rip off will ever do again, when we watch the LAST episode in 2010, we lose that and thats why when the Finale aired tonight I was got sad and will be because this is it, we got on this plane in 2005 and it lands next year, 6 years later. I like the sound of that, might use that elsewhere
