Figured since Lost's 5th season will be over soon, we might as well start talking about the new show that's supposed to quench our thirst for crazy TV show theorizing.... From this website the show is about, "in a nutshell, it's the chaos that ensues after everyone on the planet blacks out for two minutes and seventeen seconds. But that's not entirely true. First, about 40 million or so poor souls don't survive the global event; airplanes fall from the sky, cars collide, people fall down stairs, drown, etc. as they lose consciousness during whatever they're doing at that moment. Second, the effect isn't so much a blackout but a Lost-appropriate flash forward in time as each of the survivors experiences a snippet from their own future during that time loss. And not just any moment, but a very specific moment five months from then: 8 pm on April 20th, 2010." Sounds intriguing. Learn about the book the show will be based on. So...what did you see?

The new commercial played during the finale for the show looked pretty good.

How interesting!
"Unlike last year’s LOST game, this Flash Forward experience will likely finish."
Haha, bitter much?

I see flash forward as being a one season show there's not much you can do with this stuff especially since it is based on a book

I haven't read the book, but maybe it opens up possibilities at the end...?

...I have since read that they planned out the show for five seasons. Don't know if they'll get signed for that many, but I guess there's enough plot.
I watched the premiere tonight, anyone else? There was an Oceanic billboard, haha.

Yeah from the previews do you think Dominic Moghnihan is the masked man from the stadium?

That's a good theory, at any rate! Hmm....

I'm liking the show! And I'm liking the podcast! I'm still not totally into it though - it definitely doesn't feel like it could ever be as good as LOST, mostly because I just don't find the characters or actors as engaging.

I have a thought and a crackpot theory. On a past podcast Jay and Jack discussed whether or not Dominic Monaghan could be Agent Zero. They even looked up Dominic's height and weight online. You had mentioned that agent zero is 5'8" and weighs 150 lbs., and Dominic is 5'7" and 145 lbs. I'm guessing if Dominic is agent zero the extra inch could be made up because they figured his height while he is dressed, which would include him wearing shoes thus adding an extra inch. As for the weight, who knows when the weight was included in the update. I know that my weight will move up and down 5-10 in any given month.
And I have one crackpot theory to explain the 137 second blackout. I am guessing that the people(beings?) or the technology that caused the blackout it alien. We know that the blackout has happened at least once prior in Africa. 137 seconds is the 33rd prime number.
What if each blackout seems to increase in time by a prime number.
Or maybe they just picked a prime number so people couldn't divide them into smaller numbers to find meaning in the smaller numbers.

The height weight thing makes me twitch since they acted like a female had very little odds of being that height and weight...but I'm 5'8, weight about 147 lbs, and am totally a chick so what gives? I'm no bigger or smaller than most people....
I'm not sure I understand how 137 being a prime number means the length of the blackouts is increasing...? Could you explain that more?

I agree they showed ten episodes so that leaves what 6 episodes to get us interested again and they another long break. Hopefully it has a very good ending. At least we got a great quote "Cause I was loaded, OK" love using that one.
