I put this thread in the "Spolier Section" in deference to those who remain so Spolier free that they don't even want to know what future episod titles are.
I figured since after tonight's episode - we have an off week before we hit the end game for this season - we might have a little fun with what we think "The Incident" actually is.
Give it your best shot - make sure if you use any even remotely spoilery material - it's hidden - and good luck

I thought it was after The Variable that we get the break, not after this week? I know some spoilers for the finale (at least I think so, the internet is tricksey sometimes). They're pretty big, but no forks in sockets, I do not think. And no mention of deaths. 1. There's a flashback to Jin and Sun's wedding. 2. Jacob is at said wedding. 3. A young Sawyer goes to his parents' funerals. 4. And from what I understand, Sawyer also witnesses Locke being tossed out the window by his dad. And... 5. The episode centers around Richard.

I wasn't speaking of Spoilers that you know about in the upcoming episode called "The Incident" - I mean "What do you think "The Incident" that they are talking about actually is?"For Instance: Pierre Chang creates a time portal to the future but loses his arm when it suddenly closes - leaving his arm in 2008.

I think that "the incident" is involvingJughead and Daniel somehow and I really hope I'm wrong on this:but
Daniel either blows himself up or has a nervous breakdown. Which is why he has a caretaker.
I REALLY REALLY hope I'm wrong on this

Aaa, sorry. I was thinking more of people being able to theorize for anything in the episode based off spoilers (like the actual why's and how's behind them). My mistake!
Chang mentioned the Incident when talking about about the Swan, so I guess it would have to do with either jughead or something else that ends up behind the cement. But since they were already planning to build the Swan, what do you think they originally planned it to be used for if not for "saving the world" from this Incident?

I think the original intention for the Swan Station was to be the main station that monitored all of the other stations and stored the data from them - given all of the computer equipment there. Either that or the computers were set to work on the Valenzetti Equation - but the use of the Swan Station was obviously changed - at least partially - by "The Incident". The technicians assigned there were to monitor the data coming in and as well as "push the button" - but "The Purge" changed all of that again.
I can imagine that Radzinsky was in the Swan when "The Purge" happened and being the generally paranoid type that he seems to be - locked himself in. I mean the Swan was his baby, since he designed it. In the time between "The Incident" and "The Purge" he slowly became more and more insane - convinced he was "saving the world" by pushing the buttons when he was really just saving the island - but the island was his "world". During his down times he drew the Blast Door Map.
The question here is Kelvin. Was he indoctrinated into the Dharma Initiative off the island or did he arrive there by accident and in his eventual slippage into functional insanity, come to believe all that Radzinsky taught him about Dharma? Remember Kelvin was CIA. Maybe he was sent on a mission there. I can't believe he was there with Radzinsky during "The Purge" - the timing doesn't make sense - unless I am off - which is always possible.
feel free to debunk me on that point - but there you have my theory on it LOL

So you're saying The Swan was originally supposed to be like the Pearl?

I dont think the Swan was supposed to be a monitoring station. They've said that it had to do with electromagnetism. I think that the reactor in the incident room screwed up somehow and the button just discharges it. Kelvin had to come to the island after the purge. Im not sure how though.
