Jack has always been one of my favorite characters. I'm really digging the direction they have gone with him and his transformation to a man of faith. I really liked how he said he always felt he was getting in the way of the island and now he is waiting for his sign. I can't wait to see what his purpose is for coming back!

I find it hard to believe that Jack did not see fixing young Ben as a sign from the island. He is just being stubborn, and the island won't tolerate it.

Jack was being partially stubborn but at the same time he was staying out of the island's way as he mentioned. He understood that regardless of what he did, things were going to happen the way they were meant to.

I put in another thread that I think the sign that Jack is waiting for has to do with his father. The main reason that Jack came back to the island, is because Locke said he saw Jack's Dad.
