Since Locke made Ben eggs in season 4 and we saw a chicken get killed in the last episode, I am gonna say egg. Did we seen a chicken or an egg in the previous seasons?...dunno.

When the near-chicken mother that spawned the first bird genetically identifiable as the modern chicken, if the zygote began to form before the egg which would carry it, then the chicken came first. If the eggs were formed first, then the fetus began to develop inside it, then perhaps the egg. However, one could make the argument that the egg was of the near-ckicken mother, and was not a true chicken egg, and so the chicken did indeed come first.
